Running Mix

As the person who likely does the most running/listening to music and is giving the least ironic answers trust me on these:

In The Morning - Junior Boys (LowRoller's right about this one - a beautiful song, very inspiring and a great way to start any day or run)

Happy Up Here - Royksopp

Rome, Fences, Girlfriend, Armistice, Listztomania, 1901 - Phoenix (so basically the whole Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix album)

Moonson, Seasun - Delorean

Right Side of My Brain - The Dream

(the last one would be a really good warm up/cool down song and yes may sound like the slow jam jiggy R&B song that it is but I dare you not to be a) touched B) motivated by this song)

You da man zero!

Here's the thing with me and computers Kev, if it ain't posting on the Sanctuary or Facebook, or buying songs from itunes, I don't know how to do it. Your request is inconceivable to me.

Booche if you post a dumb blond photo I will drive over and smack you with my fry pan.

So far I've just been listening to only Phish and some hip hop.

My favourite tune of any kind to get me fired up at both the beginning and end of runs is a raging Tweeprize. Plus, when running to live Phish you have an 18,000 person cheering section following you around.

Put this list together for a half marathon this past weekend. I really like putting together race-specific mixes, as I try and strategically place songs based on what sort of motivation I'll need at various points. Also, in retrospect, Run Like an Antelope should have been on this one, as there were antelope and zebras running alongside us at various times. Pretty cool.

Anyway, here it is. No downloads or YouTube links, as I'm on a rather slow connection. Run time is two hours:

Phish - Tweezer Reprise

Allman Brothers Band - Statesboro Blues

Tom Petty - You Wreck Me

Dropkick Murphys - Tessie

The Weakerthans - Tournament of Hearts

Mike Ness - Don't Think Twice

The Avett Brothers - Kick Drum Heart

United Steelworkers of Montreal - Rise Up

The Sadies - Lay Down Your Arms

Yonder Mountain String Band - Steep Grade, Sharp Curves

Greensky Bluegrass - Bont's Breakdown

Phil & Friends (w/Trey) - Franklin's Tower

Soulive - Hurry Up...and Wait

Sphongle - Dorset Perception

Spam Allstars - Charanga E-350

Classified - Danger Bay

Skratch Bastid - Axel F. and Rakim

Skratch Bastid - Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em

Paul Simon - Late in the Evening

Michael Franti & Spearhead - Yell Fire

Gov't Mule - Paint it Black

Grateful Dead - Not Fade Away

My Morning Jacket - One Big Holiday

Phish - Good Times, Bad Times

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run

The Deep Dark Woods - Glory, Hallelujah
