Hal Johnson
Once again, I ask you, the good people of the skanktuary, to please suggest any cool places to hang in the downtown of Halifax on a saturday night. I guess Live Music would be the first thing I'd be looking for, but it is followed closely by cheep beer. Come to think of it, a combination of live music and cheap beer would probably be the best, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks. Hal.
Jay Funk Dawg
best live shows are at the Paragon or the Seahorse. On Sat in Halifax there's Delhi 2 Dublin that are worth checking. peace

boiler
The Lower Deck, do not leave Halifax unless you have been there on a Saturday night. They close at midnight which gives you lots of time to go elsewhere. It's Nova Scotia after all, you can drink til 3:30 in some bars.
dave-O
Hope I'm not too late... all the spots on Argyle are good - Seahorse (your best bet), Foggy Goggle, Economy Shoe Shop, etc - music varies night-to-night. Coconut Grove is pretty good too, upstairs at Pizza Corner. As Jay said, any big shows are at the Paragon. Gus' Pub is a cool dive bar in the north end where all the local bands play. Check out The Coast http://www.thecoast.ca/ for music listing.
Hal Johnson
Thanks BR, we will go there for shore (east coast speak ). Our hotel is right down the street from it, and it was on our radar. Thinking of hitting up Maxwell's Plume first though.

StaggerLee
Gus's pub and The Company House are small but hip bars in the north end that usually have good local music.
