Dr. J
This morning I installed and uninstalled Microsoft Office (long story) and in the process lost Microsoft Word. Is there a simple way for me to return to the program settings I had before the install/uninstall fiasco?

Deeps
You might be able to just run the install again and choose to do a custom install. At that point maybe just choose to install microsoft word only.

Dr. J
I don't see anywhere to do that, AD. Mind you I haven't got the foggiest notion what I'm looking for. Problem is I've had Microsoft Word on my computer all along and it worked fine. Then I decided to load Office, but didn't like what it did to my Word documents and every time I tried to open one of them I was now being asked for a Product Key which I didn't know. So I uninstalled Office only to discover I had also lost Word and all my Word documents have been converted to something that I can't open. Maybe if I do as Deeps says, it will work. Thanks for the help guys. You too Davey boy.
ollie
Another avenue to try if you're really stuck is Open Office. It's a free "version" of Office. i.e. it's compatible with most Office documents but not 100%. Might be worth a try if you're stuck.http://www.openoffice.org/
