Through a collection of fast-paced interlocking narratives, it animates the tale of an alternate America and its wide-eyed citizens: the LSD-slinging graffiti writers of Central Park, the Dead-loving AI scientists of Stanford, utopian Whole Earth homesteaders, black market chemists, government-wanted Anonymous hackers, rogue explorers, East Village bluegrass pickers, spiritual seekers, Internet pioneers, entrepreneurs, pranksters, pioneering DJs, and a nation of Deadheads." edger
This looks really interesting...thought it was a doc at first which would likely be more accessible to my overworked self right now...hate how little time I have for "recreational" reading these days. But maybe I need to put this on the summer agenda lol
c-towns
The brain on LSD revealed: first scans show how the drug affects the brain The researchers found altered visual cortex activity under the drug, and that the combination of LSD and music caused this region to receive more information from an area of the brain called the parahippocampus. The parahippocampus is involved in mental imagery and personal memory, and the more it communicated with the visual cortex, the more people reported experiencing complex visions, such as seeing scenes from their lives. Booche
Wonder if any of Jesse's words in this book will cause Phish to break up again. Having said that, I am sure I would dig this book. Always enjoyed his rumblings at Jambase.
