  4. actually, after the ibook succumbed to suckness, I rushed down to the coffee shop below and grabbed a PC from someone there. the cable from the camera had a firewire output and the newish PC didn't have an input for it. my boss from work had to rush down the Mac Book Pro from his office - with minutes to spare...quite a rush as we were on schedule for the figurative minute. heh. such a simple solution
  5. I edited the original post with the latest info. Sorry about the 20th call....still....close enough to catch the sista's!
  6. More info.... Kevin is doing a solo show. If you haven't seen him make music on his own, this is really a treat. I'm sure there will be some collaboration with CR Avery. Who's going? I think this will be one of them nights....so close....so close. Time for a bus trip!
  7. holy shit! I think it's 2 nights! rumour has it.... 20 and 21 of april!
  8. I think we're in too. I think it's a monday so that offers a Sisters Euclid night too!
  9. luke, you gotta follow my posts. I post all the prince shit...if you don't beat me to it
  10. That's a great vid Mike! Looks like you got some incredible footage and audio. I tweeted that shit out!
  11. Hey Jeff, I thought I heard that guy ripping you off! I guess it goes the other way around Mike! Great job! Don't worry about the streaming. You had, at peak, 325 people viewing the stream and it never dropped below 280 (I watched them numbers for you). It was GREAT to see that crowd on the street. It was a much bigger crowd than what the Beatles had 40 years ago! I hope you put together the full performance eventually. I'm so glad it was captured. I love Beatles tributes. I don't care what Snelgrove thinks on this specific genre of the subject. I got a few twitter friends watching. One guy is from Blackberry, so I bet he'd be interested in how you were set up through a BB and the streaming software. Is there a BB app for setting it up or something?
  12. I would Davey, but I just don't have the money and all that. They are a great band. They're like playing in your neighbourhood!
  13. FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS APRIL 21 & 22, 2009 MASSEY HALL – TORONTO Doors: 7:00PM Show: 8:00PM New Zealand's self-proclaimed "4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo" got their start in Wellington as members Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement (musician/funnyman and funnyman/musician, respectively) started crafting their unique, two-man comedy mélange, while the two of them were living together at college. Overcome by a dream, in which a V formation of Gibson Flying Vs resembled a gaggle of Concorde airplanes, the band christened themselves Flight of the Conchords and began honing their act in the local comedy and rock clubs around their town in the late '90s. By 2002, they could be found playing such high-profile gigs as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. When they returned to the fest in 2003, they were nominated for the Perrier Award, thus making them "the almost award-winning 4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo in New Zealand." Between those gigs, Flight of the Conchords self-released the album Folk the World and, by 2005, was the subject of a six-part BBC Radio 2 broadcast series -- a largely improvised affair in the vein of Spinal Tap and Tenacious D. In 2006, the band penned a deal with U.S. indie imprint Sub Pop, who released the half-studio, half-live EP The Distant Future. Shortly after signing to Sub Pop, the two got their breaks as actors. Clement scored a starring role in the indie comedy Eagle Vs. Shark, and HBO offered Bret and Jemaine their own series. Flight of the Conchords - the show - follows the two trying to achieve success as a band in New York City, with original songs worked into the plotlines. Flight of the Conchords – the band – is set to release their new album later this year.
