    NERO FRIDAY

What time do you plan on leaving? If you want to catch the opening you should probably be at Maverick's by 9:30-10. That's a wild guess, but probably accurate enough.
  2. I'm thinking of getting some pho on bank and then meeting up for a drinky-poo at Brixton's. I don't recall Brixton's having anything decent worth eating. I also may have an extra ticket or 2.
  3. In Varadero.... The Barcelo Solymar was a wonderful place. I especially loved the bar that never closed. Mind you, we never had an all nighter, but right before any excursions, I was able to get a boozy coffee, and then a Rom Ponche or 2 for the busride. Scooters were a blast!
  4. Grateful Dead 3 shows in Charlotte '95. That was somethin'!
  5. I'm impressed with the amount of jabber over a rumoured list of acts.
  6. this recipe is similar to what has been made for thai curries at home. Notice the chicken stock. It's quite common in most of the reference material i've read for the thai curries. I now believe that it's all WRONG!
  7. Head's up! Coconut cream and coconut milk make for a finer green curry experience! I can say that it was much easier to season to taste with fish sauce. It must be the fact that there is more fat. Anyway, NO MORE CHICKEN STOCK in thai curries for me! I also liked the timing of the japanese eggplant to the last 5 minutes of cooking. It was the perfect texture. I also added Lemongrass to the coconut mixture after I removed the poached chicken and some minced thai chilis to be sure we got the kick.
  8. Here's StoneMtn's photos resized from the west!
  9. The DOC suggested to you that he wanted to touch your rectum?
  10. that was so geigh. I just laughed my ass off at 8:20 when Hulk Hogan's mind was blown by the 2 refs.
  11. The $249-$449 was Kevin Rose speculation from way back in December.
  12. Today there is a little article in the paper (24HRS.CA) called "PROSTATE CANCER: THE MOST COMMON CANCER FOR MEN" It's got a great diagram that shows what the prostate looks like. They compare the 'normal' size to the equivalent of a walnut. It lists symptoms like 'Painful Ejaculation' and the 'Presence of blood in urine or sperm'. I don't think I really needed to read that to know to go straight to the doctors if ejaculation is PAINFUL. Anyway, I just found the article slighty funny in parts. Mainly this little point: Detecting any mass, irregularity, size or texture variation of the prostate is therefore easy thanks to the rectal touch performed by the physician. Since when is the rectal exam just a little touch? Shouldn't they be calling it the "rectal violation" performed by the physician?
  13. the guy on the right looks like Ollie.
  14. I had to cut my hair to get people to stop calling me Sam Roberts here in Ottawa.
  15. "apparently leaked on the internet" You could easily guess that 90% of that list would be on the bill.
  16. Steve Wozniak on the iPhone
  17. since I already have some of that curry paste from previous entries into Gaeng Keo Ngai land, I'm just going to go with that tonight. I've noticed that you don't use chicken stock and just coconut cream and milk. I've also never used straight up coconut cream before...aside what comes from the top of a can of the milk. Should be interesting. Oh and I bought my first Galangal root today!
  18. That was one helluva presentation. I wonder how connected you can be with it, and how much the service will cost. The other announcement, Apple TV is abso-fuckin-ly-useless in Canada. You still can't buy tv shows or movies from the iTunes Store here. So why are they bothering to sell it here?
  19. get into videogames. get an Xbox360 with all your saved money and play with Alabama Man, Badams and Dog At the Station.
  20. I'm down with this...hopefully we can do your curry this week! We usually just use the imported paste, but I've always wanted to make our own. You didn't do anything wrong man. It was a good night to talk about food. We do have a couple of interviews to setup with a couple of local companies and your thoughts on theming will come in handy.
  21. They just seem to have got a good thing that they couldn't pass up. I really just hope they'll be able to include Ottawa again. I know Ottawa is not always on US musician radars.
