  2. WTF? Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081027/ap_on_el_pr/skinhead_plot

  4. At this rate the Kanata Arena will be 75% Leaf fans. Maybe more! Mind you, lots can happen between now and then (like about 40 games )
  5. It would have to be in Ottawa since you can't get tix here, and they are readily available in the Nation's Capital. Feb 28 Mar 9 Are tix half-price those days??? I'll likely afford these sooner vs.
  6. Now you're talkin' Khabibulin ain't takin' the Sens to the Cup (if they get him), just like Sundin (if he returns) won't take the Leafs to the Cup. Reality bites, but you can still find enjoyment along the way (especially along the parade route )
  7. Ad, you MUST know by now that the Parade Planning Committee operates 24/7, 365 days a year. It is NOT news that a parade is being planned! What is ALWAYS exciting, is when supposed "ineptitude" gets to beat out Ottawa's supposed "success" on the ice (and other "top-tier" teams' true success as well ... e.g. Detroit) Also, remember that most people who follow the Leafs in their hearts and minds KNOW that there is absolutely no chance to win the Cup this year (and most likely next year). Smaller successes, therefore, are much much more tasty and enjoyable during these times. So, we will take your advice and not mind you at all AD. In fact, we'll find tons of enjoyment from you ... honest
  8. [color:purple]Just sign Sundin and the Cup will be yours!!!
  9. can you up a copy of that?? I'd love to have the non-Family Guy version too
  10. Only one goal against the lowly Leafs?!?!?! (The Leafs had to score one for the Sens ). Better watch out, there's only one point away from being the bottom of the basement for the Sens in the East Sens looked lost (from the third period that i saw and replays). They need to find something. They're picking up on the downward spiral from last season.
  11. Rock and roll! I only got to see the end of the third. But sweet win for the Leafs. Van Ryn fucked up by scoring for the wrong team, oh well

  13. http://www.marinij.com/marinnews/ci_10806195 Keyboardist Merl Saunders, who collaborated with Jerry Garcia, dies at 74 By Paul Liberatore Article Launched: 10/24/2008 10:03:37 AM AKDT Merl Saunders, a keyboardist who collaborated with Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia in the 1970s and went on to earn the title of "the godfather of jam bands," died Friday morning at Kaiser hospital in San Francisco of complications from a stroke. He was 74. Mr. Saunders, who was born in San Mateo and grew up in San Francisco, is best remembered for his partnership with Garcia, playing legendary club dates as "Legion of Mary" and then as "Garcia/Saunders," and recording the albums "Heavy Turbulence," "Fire Up" and "Live at the Keystone." He was a guest player on the 1971 album "Grateful Dead," and served as musical director with the band on the "Twilight Zone" television show in the mid-1980s. Mr. Saunders apprenticed with the famed organist Jimmy Smith and is credited with teaching the great American songbook to the rock- and folk-oriented Garcia. "Blues from the Rainforest," their 1990 collaboration, hit the Billboard Top 10 in the New Age category. In recent years, Mr. Saunders was revered as the senior member of the jamband world, playing with Phish, Blues Traveler and Widespread Panic. After suffering a stroke six years ago, he lost the use of one of his hands and his ability to speak, but remained a vibrant presence on the Bay Area music scene. "Boy, did he get the most out of what he had left," said Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. He is survived by two sons, Anthony Saunders and Merl Saunders Jr., and a daughter, Susan Saunders. Memorial services have not been announced.
  14. LOL ... i was at the show AFTER that Forest Hill gig. He played Rock and Roll Heaven that night and the show didn't start until almost midnight! Not many people left when he came on. He apologized and did a great gig. Supposedly when they booked it, they thought it was a COLLEGE and not a high school dance Kimmock was on guitar with him on that run. I had a killer sbd tape of that show (my buddy was running sbd for Days Of You who opened that night IIRC). He worked in a Santa Clause is Coming To Town

  17. damn. I was just thinking about him the other week wondering how his condition was. I know somebody who was close friends with him. I'll have to email him and send my condolences. Sad I'm going to put some Merl on now.
