First night of the playoffs and I'm already exhausted. Gotta get some rest. Now work is getting in the way
Predictions for tonight?
MTL 5 BOS 1
DET 3 NSH 1
ANA 2 DAL 1
SJ 4 CAL 2 (this should be a killer with no day off after last night )
Wow! This overtime in Minnesota is fucking great.
I love playoff hockey
Waiting for this one to end before I go back for the 3rd in San Jose.
Anyone else watching this shit? Great hockey.
You could at least see him refrain from some stupid retaliatory stuff after Murray chewed him out. But then that left him with absolutely nothin'.
No kidding! Credit that he was the one who dropped the gloves and was ready to go, but man did he not do a thing there. At least it was more than what Neil had to offer (seriously, why was he holding back Crosby?)
What ... in golf duds?
Yup, and he seemed to have a lot to say to Crosby while Crosby was in the penalty box. Didn't seem to accomplish much.
Damn, there are tix in the lower bowl for sale still for the game on Monday in Ottawa!! It's the playoffs! Is the Sens Army in Afghanistan or something?
I ain't calling "conspiracy" ... whatever. Three "holding" calls to Pens so far, so they are calling them for it.
Hey, what are you drinking tonight??? I'm riding the beers from this afternoon. Sticking with the barley sandwiches and gonna see if I can make it through the Calgary v San Jose game
Buddy, I'm talking about the too many men on the ice earlier on, the hit from behind into the corner, a couple of flagrant holding (free arm around the other player style that they call these days). I'm telling ya though, they get a goal in at the start of the third and they could put the scare into the Pens and get 'em shakey. However, with the way that the Pens 4th line is going they can turn it around. We'll see what they're made of.
Looks like Gerber is the only one playing tonight. Commodore is brutal ... you can put him on the links with McCabe, Redden in short order. Damn, the refs are being extra nice to the Sens too. It's only a 2 goal lead, so it ain't over ... but damn the Pens are looking fine this period. Time for Neil to start his antics, and LaPointe by the look of it (what a prick)
It's true, a lot of unknowns and unprovens being relied upon for teams this year. Will Hossa, Kovalev, Thornton, Gerber, DiPietro, etc step up to the plate this time??
It's definitely going to be interesting.
Woohoo ... just had a mini-celebration here in the department at work for the commencement of the playoffs. Downed about 4 free beers in a half hour and won some of the leftover (full case) as a door prize. MMMMMM ... now I just have to make it for another 20mins and I'm outside in the sun on the way home for some ball hockey, more beers, and Round 1 of the playoffs to start.
Drop the Puck!!!
oh yeah, and we have one of these in our department for the duration of the playoffs:
Departmental tournament and play anytime for free. KICKASS
I can't wait for July 12th. It will be interesting to see how many people leave after Levon (i bet it's quite a few ... much like the Dylan/Lesh gigs from a bunch of years ago) ... fine by me More room for us!
I certainly don't remember the 74 game, but I sure do remember the Stanley Cup win in '76! That was huge. One of my first hockey memories... ahhhh, to be 6 again living and breathing hockey (my almost 6-year-old is doing it now and it's amazing to see).
