  1. I don't know. I look at it another way. First, I'm sure that Cliff and all the other GMs today are exhausted and stressed out. Secondly, call-out McCabe and Kubina. Who gives a fuck. That was a move to encourage them to drop their NTC so that they can get rid of them in the summer. McCabe will be gone for sure (his wife is living in Long Island and they are about to have a new baby in a couple of months). Good riddance. Gill, Kilger and Belak weren't core players. He's calling a spade a spade. It reinforces that he was unloading players that were in no way integral to the future of the club and in return unloaded salaries and gained picks. To say his hands were tied by JFJ's dealings is true as well. What's wrong with saying that. I find that when sports people (players and management) are interviewed, too often they really don't have ANYTHING to say except the same old tired sound bytes we've all heard a million times. Leading up to the trade deadline all the talk is smokescreen and bs. I love to hear somebody "tell it like it is" a little for once. In some way it instills a level of confidence that they really ARE doing something at the management level and hell-bent on making hard decisions that will better a floundering club. Cliff is playing hardball. I hope he hires a new GM with as much piss 'n' vinegar. Maybe it'll trickle down and help the rest of the team grow some balls back It'll be fun to see who Belak wants to bang around on the Leafs when they meet up tomorrow night. You may just see him get a little frustration out on a few of the slackers from his old dressing room.
  2. Let McCabe fell the ire of the fans in the stands for the rest of the season. Unload him in the summer .... PLEASE!!!
  3. Third rounder? Ok, i'll take it. Kilger is a fun player to watch, but might as well make some more room on the bench and get some more picks. Lots of Marlies who could use some ice time as the season draws to a close.
  4. seconds apart AD I posted it as a buddy told me here at work. What was it, a 5th rounder in exchange???
  5. Pitts is going to win the Cup now that they've got Gill!! Blockbuster deal
  6. Well, his first game as a Panther will be against Toronto tomorrow night Wonder if he'll be ready to scrap
  7. McGuire is a MONSTER ... he's never surprised
  8. The Avalanche have picked up defenceman Ruslan Salei from the Panthers in exchange for defenceman Karlis Skrastins and a 3rd round pick
  9. On Huet: Pierre McGuire: "I'm not surprised at all. This is Carey Price's team going forward. Internally (the Habs) knew they were not going to win with Cristobal Huet." Keith Jones on Huet: "I'm shocked. I don't think they got enough for Huet.. The Montreal Canadiens have had succeess going with rookie goaltender in the past.. But I'm surprised the market was so small for Huet."
  10. Unloading Huet makes for a fair bit of cap room, no? Three way deal could be very likely. When three way deals fall through, they can be ugly though Hey, does anyone know if they made sure the fax machines are all working at NHL head office?
  11. Belak for a 5th rounder? Not bad. ANYONE from the fifth round will be better than Belak. I say good deal!
  12. What are the Sens going to do about goaltending??? Things really aren't looking that good. Emery looked completely demoralized in those last few seconds of the 2nd period. Is Gerber completely out of the question? I went to a Marlies game on Saturday and they were playing the Binghampton Sens. That one saw a Senators goalie change as well. Neither one seemed very good (could have been an off game for them i don't know). Whatever the case, it looks like Ottawa needs to trade for a goalie or pick one up. Who can they get? Will they do anything? Curious.
  13. SSIA I don't know if this is a rerun, but what the hell
  14. I wasn't too keen on the Hollywoodization of Dallaire in Hotel Rwanda. Still a good movie, but the doc is the reality and soo much better. On the topic of Africa and docs ... reminds me I've got to watch War Drum. Supposed to be incredible.
  15. I can't believe I'd never heard of this guy before: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=kuntzru01
  16. I dunno, just getting a bit tired of him. On the way to work I tune into the FAN590 and have to hear him as a "hockey insider" once a week. His personality comes across as simply off-putting. It's not as noticeable in his writing, but I can see it in there more after each time I hear him on the radio I could just be a little pissy though
  17. Cool. Could totally picture ghost stories from that place. Hearing music coming from a room down the hall and going in to find nobody there?!!
  18. Gotta figure out how i'm going to fund this one again. I'd love to get a honkin' RV again like last year, just don't know if the $$ will be there. Better start crunchin' the numbers (or apply for some more plastic )
  19. S H U T O U T Kaberle's save at the end was awesome. Leafs kicked ass tonight. Man did they look good. Best team won for sure. Wonder what Damian suxCox will think of Tucker's performance tonight .
  20. I used to live around the corner from that building. Would walk by it almost every day. It's beautiful. In the summer months it's great when you go by and hear music floating out the open windows as students practice inside. I've never been inside the building. Any idea what it's like?
