  5. mmmmm .... beer. I'm thirsty now. I just picked up some C'est What? Homegrown Hemp Ale yesterday. It will be my beverage this evening while watching the Leafs v. Habs ... http://cestwhat.ca/beer.asp
  6. If you plant ice, you're going to harvest wind.
  7. They must be doing well on those fan club memberships . I am so glad I didn't have to pay that membership fee!!! BestBuy sent me another passcode for presale for the Montreal and Vancouver dates last week, but it was AFTER they had already been scooped up. If they send me another one for any of the added shows, I'd be happy to pass it along to anyone here who is itchin' to get in.
  8. So, TUCKER for another 3 years? TSN.ca Staff 2/26/2007 8:27:03 AM According to the Toronto Star, the Toronto Maple Leafs have tentatively agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with Darcy Tucker. Tucker will earn an average of US$3-million per season for at least three years, reports the newspaper. A possible fourth year, structured around a no-trade clause, would allow the Leafs to get out from under cap implications if neccessary. Tucker had 19 goals in 39 games for the Maple Leafs this season before injuring his foot on January 1. Tucker has scored at least 20 goals four times in his career, and had 19 in 39 games before getting sidelined by a foot injury in late December. Related Info He has never won a major NHL honour, but was the AHL rookie of the year in 1996 and won three Memorial Cups with Kamloops as a junior. Last season was Tucker's best in the NHL. He scored 28 goals and 33 assists for 61 points. He also reached topped 100 penalty minutes for the seventh time in his career.
  9. LOL ... at least Kubina started to produce a little something in the last couple of weeks (too bad he's injured now). Looking forward to the game tonight. Hope it's a good one!
  10. Nope. Unless they meet in the playoffs. They've played their 8 games already this season' date=' Ottawa won 5, Buffalo 3. [/quote'] Bummer ... well, it would be a good playoff matchup. As it stands now, it sure wouldn't happen in the first round though (unless the Sens go on a real slide)
  11. Like many others here, I wonder what the hell you are trying to say with your posts. For somebody who seems to be very religious and a follower of good 'ol JC, you seem to bite back with some very non-compassionate (broken) sentences in this post. Nice to know that you think your god is all accepting and will help somebody like Luke, but YOU are more than willing to give-up, tell him to shut-up, and to simply pray for help. How fucking insulting, non-christian-like, and mean-spirited can you be. Maybe you should talk to your god, read your book, and look for some inner answers to your own behaviour and actions. Give up on your brother and tell them to keep their feelings to themselves ... yup, i seem to recall that being preached by the righteous all the time. In the meantime, rather than being FORCED to read all of Luke's posts and drama (since you don't know how to ignore these threads) you may want to spend some more time here: http://www.ego4u.com/en/cram-up/writing
  12. That's precisely what happened to my sister way back when too I wonder if they warn people of that.
  13. If you have CAA (or any other roadside assistance membership) get your car out on the road and tell them you need your free $5 in gas!!!
  14. Since you don't have to pay extra to get to the top when you're going for dinner, it gives you the most bang for your buck if you want to do it. The food is good and the fact that it rotates rocks! Just don't leave anything on the window sill as it doesn't rotate with you .
  15. I've always enjoyed Niagara-On-The-Lake and hitting the Olde Angel Inn when I'm there. http://www.angel-inn.com/ Great food and beer, and often there's a band jamming too. Cool old building, and it's haunted by an old British soldier
  16. Crazy game last night. Neil looked just like Domi at the end of that fit raising his arms I must say, I'd have preferred it if the game had gone to OT ... and it SHOULD have. That interference call on Buffalo with only a couple of minutes to go was LAME! DO they play again before the season is out?
  17. Easy win ... and so it should have been. That goal that Raycroft let in at the end of the second was weak. I thought he might blow it for them. Steen Stajan O'Neil looked good last night. Couldn't believe how few penalties there were. Toronto/Philly used to be bloodbaths. I think that fucker Clarke is trying to make them finish in last ... what a loser.
  18. From the article it sounds like they do "family dances" at the Drake Hotel every couple of months. They are also going to be doing a concert at the ElMocambo soon too with a bunch of indie bands (as soon as I find out a date on that i'll post it). We should get all the mini-skanks out there for that one
  19. damn ... i totally meant to post this the other day too! My friend had highlighted it to me, and they were talking about it on CBC Metro Morning too. If you, or anyone else, can make it look for me. I'll be the one with my little blond daughter dressed like BatGirl
  20. For anyone who's interested, this looks really interesting. I'm packing up the kids soon to head over. You'll hear our collaboration with Broken Social Scene in the near future http://www.thestar.com/article/183767 KID-FRIENDLY Nuit Blanche for families Feb 22, 2007 04:30 AM Kristin Rushowy STAFF REPORTER It's an afternoon of "art and ideas," a "symposium for the kidtelligentsia and their parents." In other words, it's not your typical playdate. This Saturday, the venerable downtown Arts and Letters Club opens its doors to a much younger crowd, who will be roaming the hallways with their parents in search of artistic, literary and musical experiences during the Bunch Family Salon. And while billed as an event for kids and their parents, it's actually quite the opposite, says organizer Rebecca Brown. "It's a reversal of so many family events," says Brown, co-founder of Bunch family fun. "Most activities are for the kids – but our mandate is equally for the parents." Bunch is behind the wildly popular family dance parties held at the Drake Hotel. Brown and fellow new mom Lisa Kaplan – who met at a postnatal pilates class – hatched the idea about a year ago after the two found themselves talking about all that goes on in the city. The dance party, held every six weeks or so at the Drake hotel, is still their biggest draw, regularly attracting about 400 people. When Bunch added a "chill-out" room for families to take a break from the dance floor, rest, eat or do arts activities, it proved popular. "Then we said, let's do an event that's all a chill-out room," says Brown. Likely the only event of its kind in the country, the Bunch Family Salon features the talents of representatives from the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, National Film Board, Royal Conservatory of Music, the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People and Levitt Goodman Architects. Activities include: # Collaborating on an original song with Broken Social Scene's Jason Collett and Kevin Drew. # Three to seven-minute lectures by children, on topics such as "Why I love mice" (by a 6-year-old girl) and the ocean (by an 8-year-old). # A "percussion petting zoo" of drums from around the world, with TSO's lead timpanist. # Art workshops with representatives from the AGO. # Architectural workshop, with Levitt Goodman Architects, to design a fort – large enough that the kids can play in it. # "Reverse readings," hosted by local author David Eddie (author of Housebroken) where children's poems and short stories will be read, and then the pint-sized scribes will be interviewed. # A 15-year-old "undercover" opera singer who will break into song while mingling with the crowd. If it sounds too sophisticated for the stroller set, it's not, says Anne-Marie Ambert, a sociology professor at York University. "We really underestimate in our culture what children can do. They can learn far more and far younger than we allow," she says. "We always think that parents have to do fun things for children, why not turn the table around and have children doing activities with their parents?" To that end, Bunch is looking ahead. A rock concert is planned for May at the El Mocambo featuring local indie bands.
  21. Read Romeo Dellaire's Shake Hands With The Devil Watch the documentary Shake Hands With The Devil Watch the movie Hotel Rwanda It's a travesty what happened in that country. Even worse, the western world ignored it Romeo Dellaire is a Canadian hero.
  22. I agree ... i think that of the bunch of them, McCreary is the most valuable.
  23. What? A ref causing problems in an NHL game? NO!!! Seriously ... some of them should be suspended for their lack of understanding of the rules and how to officiate. Many a game recently have been blown because of the actions, or inactions, of the fuckin' zebras.
  24. Theme: Songs about Happiness! 1. Al Green - Love & Happiness 2. Ween - Happy Colored Marbles 3. The Disco Biscuits - I Remember When 4. Bobby McFerrin - Dont Worry Be Happy 5. 25. This is ALWAYS the best way to get tix at Massey. You can also lineup at Massey's box office, or the Roy Thompson Hall box office and get the same. Ticketbastard does NOT have access to all the seats at this venue (I think the same goes for the Hummingbird Centre).
