  1. Wow! It wasn't just luck last year. He did it again:
  2. just drifted away with this one for a while
  3. i would love to go see these guys again. Wayyyyy back we would see the Bourbs almost weekly around the clubs in Toronto after they won the high school battle of the bands at the Masonic Temple. Damn they were so much fun. Missed their reunion show last year. Chris and Kate are top knotch. I wish they'd do more dates around here
  4. Croweology YouTube Channel. Some excellent stories: http://www.youtube.com/user/Croweology
  5. I wish season 2 of Treme was starting soon
  6. Amazing photos: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/08/remembering_katrina_five_years.html N.O. got royally f'd by many levels of gov't. What a shame.
  7. I can understand for hardcore fans of the Blue Jays that in order to see EVERY game that they may have to pay a premium for some specific stations/packages. However, having NONE of the games on "regular" TV is a shitty move IMHO. When the franchise is in need of new fans and increasing the youth element of their fan base they shouldn't be limiting the access to the games on TV so much. I don't get Sportsnet and won't be paying to do so. Sucks that my son, who plays rep ball, doesn't get to see games on TV at home except when they are on the American networks (not the Jays). We'll be watching the World Series in glorious, uncompressed (fuck you cable), HD off air
  8. From: http://marcoonthebass.blogspot.com/2010/08/specials-perform-nite-klub-on-late-show.html The Specials performed 'Nite Klub' on Late Show with David Letterman last night. The band was promoting the U.S. release of their 30th anniversary tour DVD. The band arrived in New York last weekend and taped the show on Monday night. It was aired last night. I caught up with the band's saxophone player Drew Stansall and keyboardist Nik Torp after the taping and they shared a bit about the behind the scenes at the show. First, the band's crew had a 6 am call on Monday morning to set up all the gear. The band also ended up spending several hours cooped up in the show's green room which made them all stir crazy. According to Stansall and Torp, this had a lot to do with the added energy the band added to their performance. I look forward to reading band bassist Horace Panter's blog post about the whole experience. As expected, Neville Staple did not join the band for the performance because of ongoing visa issues with the U.S. Government. The good news for Canadian fans of the band is that Staple is expected to join the band in Toronto for their two shows this weekend .
  9. Anybody else coming out tonight for this show? Gonna be fucking fun fun fun !! http://bit.ly/bwzeSy
  10. Watched it last week. Lots of fun. Yes, Springer was a bit out of place and awkward. He got burned a number of times as did George Hamilton. Was impressed with Whitney Cummings. Much more so than Well worth watching. Lisa Lampenelli's reactions were a bit annoying after a while. Hoff and his dancing chicks! oogachuggachugga oogachugga chuggaa I just got a feeling, deep inside of me ...
  11. Anyone watching LOUIE? Totally digging it. Up to episode 10 now and it got renewed for another season! Brilliant writing and all over the map with subject matter, etc. This scene was particularly well done IMHO on many levels. You just don't get this shit on the networks
  12. Hey bouche, Thought of you when I saw a link to this site for recent Prince stuff. Have no idea if it's any good or not: http://purplekisstwo.blogspot.com/
  13. Well, the eight days have passed. Did I miss the attack? Pfft ... The "Ambassador of Death"? It's almost laughable. Itty bitty Ahmadinejad standing beside his flying "Penis of Death" missile thing is no different than the douche cruising the club district in a Hummer with spinny hubcaps. Bunch of needle-dick poseurs.
  14. The Frames have some NA tour dates starting to pop up in November. Fingers crossed for a Toronto-area show. http://www.theframes.ie/v4/news/dates.php $25 tickets? mmmmmmmgoood
