  5. and also for the ISP to cover their butts so they can say that they warned them. From what I understand, the movie industry doesn't have a leg to stand on (yet) in trying to convict any user here. At best, the ISP can ban them/shut them down if they receive too many complaints from the movie watchdogs.
  6. Ahhhhh ... two more great albums.
  7. Maybe if a few more people would give their first 5 or 6 albums out they'd have a better understanding of how great a band they were (they changed dramatically when Hackett left)

  9. That first goal was stellar. Fun seeing Uruguay make it interesting at the end too I hope it's Netherlands vs Germany for the Cup.
  10. Damn that's sad. I actually met him twice and he was incredibly nice. Man, it was wild shaking hands with the right hand that pounded so many NHL faces RIP Probert

    G20?

AD, It's all three. Trust me. The Conservatives feel that the CBC is a huge Liberal supporter when it comes to bias. However, that train of thought thinks that ANY journalism that asks questions they don't want to answer is automatically lib-biased.. Ridiculous. As for the budget, it's pennies in the grand scheme of things (compare to other gov't spending) yet they constantly try to convince people that it's breaking the bank

    G20?

To me, this is one of the biggest issues when it comes to the media. It's the answering to corporate ownership causing 'journalists' to vet their pieces in a way to not upset their bosses and lose their paycheques. I know that's a complete generalization, but it does happen. I've seen it at my work where many of the 'old guard' have been let go. Bring in the young fresh graduate journalist who is more than happy to report as they are told, or not worry when their work is completely altered by their editors. Some of the articles that have been posted here have shown how maybe the G20 events have woken up some of those outlets and that maybe they should stand up to their journalistic ideals and report the stories for what they are and not for what somebody else wants them to be. These are the reasons that public broadcasters and news outlets are seen as a threat to some gov'ts. In the US good ol' Georgie Bush cut spending massivly to PBS and tried to run them off the air completely. NPR radio, the same thing. Here in Canada, Harper would love to cut all spending to CBC for sure. Constant rhetoric is always spewed out to make the public think that it's wasted tax dollars. Hmmmmmm how far would $1.3 billion go?
  13. from what i caught of the first set it seemed fairly middle of the road. Mellower sun shining kinda set. Second set was fantastic! G20?

Angry merchants ask: Why did G20 protesters attack us? Vandals attacked their stores during the G20 summit. Now, Yonge St.’s small merchants want to know, ‘Why us?’ http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/torontog20summit/article/831506--store-owners-defiant-after-property-damaged-during-g20-riot?bn=1 and The G20 summit’s grim lessons for civil liberties http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/torontog20summit/article/831443--walkom-the-g20-summit-s-grim-lessons-for-civil-liberties
  15. sbd cass that has been circulating for a number of years. (i can up a copy to ya if you can't d/l it from the archive.org site). They really were fucking with the sound at that show too. Really tripped me out Spacey sounds at the beginning of 2nd set, the motorcyle sound that was really loud at one point, swirling vocal effects. Fire on the Mountain as the bright red sun was setting behind the fake mountain at Wonderland. MMMMMMMgoodtimes
  16. i hope they get a huge turnout. I'll be in no shape to travel at that point today, but i'll be there in spirit for sure.
