  1. I don't particularly like U2

    :0 :0 :0 :0 :0

That's a sin where I come from! And trust me, there aren't many here! ;) U2 prior to Zooropa kicks ass, after that they have some amazing material too, I just don't like an entire album, too electronica for my tastes. But there's still a lot of good stuff.

  2. You know, if you buy a new Ford they come with Sirius receivers installed and six months pre-paid subscription...and Rangers are back to 0% purchase financing on three, four or five years. Want a nice new truck that's good on gas for a great deal? I'm super happy they're back to zero percent. I love Rangers.

Sorry, I'll stop spamming now, I couldn't resist adding to this thread any longer.

    Cheers!

  3. Dear Students

I love teaching all of you about welding. Although I prefer the hands-on practical classes the best, this theory course is important for you all to have a good understanding of what to do when the shop classes begin.

Please understand that with 42 of you in my class, I CAN"T please all of you all of the time. I try my best to address you individually and help you achieve your goals/desires while in the program.

Recently I had emails from two of you who are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

One of you just wants to get in there and get dirty and start laying beads...understandable.

The other doesn't care about the grade at the end of the course or ever intends to work as a welder, and just wants me to stick with the program, no questions & answers, no relating to my own experiences, let's read the books and leave it at that...fair enough.

Just so you both understand the other 40 students fall somewhere in between.

I hope I have addressed your concerns professionally and courteously. Thank you both for your honesty. See you all tonight!

Oh, and dear work...thank you for paying me so well. It helps me deal with the stress of this job a little better.

Welding is hot, and I don't mean that as a bad pun. :)

  4. The Canadian International Auto Show is coming up on February 15-24th. (Warning, their website kinds sucks) I'm planning on taking a Tuesday off from work to go see it when it's not busy and my dealership isn't busy. I'll probably make a Toronto trek out of the day and go visit some of my favourite places (like those discussed in the thread about the Rex) and make the day really long but incredibly fun! If anybody would like to join me, let me know. I'm driving a little Explorer Sport and have room for three more people. I'll be leaving Paris/Brantford about 7:30am and of course doing a Timmies run for the road.

    Cheers!

  5. I totally forgot about the Black Market! Michelle Johnson's store is inside the Black Market, it's called the Fairie's Pyjamas and has awesome designs and I think it's made of fairly traded fabrics, too!

Am I alone in loving the Silver Snail? ;) Pardon me, my nerdiness is hanging out.

  6. I love the Rex! It's one of the best things about Toronto. In fact, that whole section of Queen West rocks! There's a subway station right near there, a wicked comic book store, a wicked book store and a sushi restaurant. I miss visiting Toronto, but not living there. I think I will make a trek there soon. Hmmmm....maybe I'll combine my day off to go to the Auto Show with a Toronto hike! That would so kick ass!

Pardon my diversion from the topic. Go to the Rex any time of any day and you will see awesome music, get great service and the beer is cheap by Toronto standards.

  7. My aunt flies at least once a week, going all over North America. She says Buffalo is one of her favourite airports. Even when she's coming to Brantford (or leaving from Brantford) she will use the Buffalo airport because it's a better facility and flights are cheaper.

I've only flown about ten times and used maybe four different airlines, but Westjet has been my favourite because they are cheaper, the seats are more comfortable on my back (I have good posture, I find Air Canada is built for hunchbacks) but they are narrower. If you have a big butt you might not like Westjet. On Westjet flights you have to pay for food but I kinda like their sandwiches, nothing special, but I'd rather have a fresh-ish sandwich than processed mystery meat. And the flight attendants have always been funny, some of them even sing!
