There's enough shade everywhere but at the main stage and campground. Lots of trees in centeroo. The tents all have roofs. But yeah, you gotta be prepared to get dehydrated and scorched.

No-car camping is the way to go. The year Metallica played I was in my tent at the start of Nothing Else Matters and by the end of the song was in the back of the concert field.

1. Yes. There's also no-car camping much closer to the venue but the vast majority of camping is beside your car. 2. Coolers definitely will not fly. You gotta get creative for the sneakage. 3. Not far at all. Easy-peasy. It's a great layout.
