The other pic on that tweet page asks if anyone saw it flying in yesterday. So either it got here yesterday or the band got here yesterday sans plane and the twitterer was just asking a question. So maybe the plane is here?

Yeah then you wrote another rambler about a bunch of topics while avoiding on-topic relevant questions. And told people that they like death and violence and shit. Explain that or apologize then start a new topic with a specific focus, if you want.

Also interesting to see videos of Amy posted here. We used to be really close buddies a number of years ago until she left Ottawa.

It's pretty easy to see how journalists can get frustrated when asking specific questions and not getting relevant replies. Do you want to talk corporate takeover of media, journalistic ethics, G20, random statistics, war reporting...? How about a new thread with some focus and a real debate if it comes to that.

For the out-of-towners, that goes for every stage as well as every outdoor 'event' in Ottawa.

Tragic and sad, but what does that have to do with what some of us are attempting to discuss here?

Care to cite an example or two from a current writer or publication? Can I pick a random article from the paper for you to analyze? What do you make of freelancers? Do you blanket-dismiss all big media or are there writers or publications that are exempt from your theories? Anything to say to the other big post I directed at you last night nibbler?

Do you think Harper wants to cut the CBC because of its journalism or because of his politics and budget? I'd be surprised if you think it's because of the journalism.

I think it's more than fair (fact, even) to say that the images of the rampage were newsworthy regardless of your claim of a conspiracy in the MSM to create any one version of events or support for any one agenda. To suggest collusion on that level is laughable. Why would the MSM try to challenge the events of the day? A lot of them were broadcasting live, getting word out even faster than other sources. I think you rely far too much on theories and hypothetical beliefs rather than the facts of the case at hand. Again, why would the MSM try to discredit the allegations of the police? It's not like they just realized that YouTube and the internet is out there and "Oh Shit, we have to completely change the way we do things..." There are always going to be cameras and the internet out there from here on out, so does that mean that never again will the MSM attempt to discredit or change the version of events that happens? And if you believe that, isn't that a great turn of events for everyone? Again, if someone relied on the MSM to get their G20 coverage and came to the same conclusion as someone who relied on independent media, twitter, blogs, facebook etc, how has the MSM failed?

nibbler, what do you make of people whose opinions about the protests / coverage etc has been 100% from mainstream media? I haven't looked at any of the alternative media reports or sites, but yet still am pretty shocked at police tactics and results etc. If my only source is mainstream media and I hold generally the same reaction as you, how has the mainstream media failed in this case?
