  3. It's a shame you can't say the same for your bar. I don't understand this statement. Please explain. Marco once said that about some jambands.ca issue that was funny. I meant I was quoting a statement I once saw him write. I think Lazlo meant, he still comes to the bar so there are no golden days going on over there. Hope that clears up the 411 on the darling of jambands.ca, lazlo.
  4. To quote Marco... "these are the golden years of Jambands.ca"

PJC presents Montreal's ANGELA DESVEAUX http://angeladesveaux.com/ http://www.myspace.com/angeladesveaux If Angela Desveaux could have three pictures in her wallet, she says they would be of Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, and her grandmother. Wandering Eyes is a sparkling country debut that highlights both Desveaux’s brilliant voice and her poignant song writing, inspired by those heroes with an alt.country twist. 10. PJC presents Hamilton's own, Domino recording artists' JUNIOR BOYS http://www.juniorboys.net/ http://www.myspace.com/juniorboys www.dominorecordco.com. with guests... WOODHANDS http://www.woodhands.com http://www.myspace.com/woodhands Now Magazine (Wavelength 300 Review) “When meek-looking BC expat Dan Werb, the cracked mind behind openers Woodhands , came onstage sporting nerdy glasses and what looked like his bar mitzvah suit, then hunkered down behind a bank of Korgs, effects pedals and wire-spewing consoles, visions of electronic Suzuki recitals danced in my head. Thirty seconds in, those expectations were shot to shit. Jerking and flailing like Devo with ADD, Werb smashed out fat, squelchy beats, skittering glitches and greasy synths that got butts bouncing in the pews. His set morphed from tracks that sounded like Rachmaninoff stretched out over obnoxious warehouse-filling big-beat bumpers to gauzy morning-after triphop tracks…His thoughtful melodic structures give Woodhands layered complexity and soul, but it's really the guy's non-stop stamina that makes his band a particularly exciting live beast.†and a special dj performance by KOUSHIK http://www.stonesthrow.com/koushik/ Saturday, June 9th Advance tickets $12, $15 at the door. Doors open at 9pm. 19+ @ Pepper Jack's 38 King William St. Hamilton, ON (905)525-6666 www.pepperjackcafe.com

  16. The first annual Hamilton Mayday Festival happening from Monday April 23 to Saturday May 5. There is an incredible list of events to take in and the whole festival culminates in a day-long street party on May 5. The Mayday festival is organized by the Sky Dragon Community Development Cooperative in partnership with Arts Hamilton, the Hamilton District Labour Council, The Hamilton Artist's Inc, The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, and the Well LGBTQ Wellness Centre. Festival Sponsors include: Reeves Financial (the Ethical Investors), CUPE 3906, OSSTF Local 21, and the Hamilton Wentworth Elementary Teacher's Local Mayday; A Festival of Liberation! Why we want it to happen: A message from the planning committee We hope the Mayday festival will act as a catalyst for raising awareness of our commonalities as Hamilton community members and global citizens. Through the festival events participants will be able to create progressive spaces where they can dialogue and collectively address our political, social, economic and environmental concerns. It is our hope that individuals and organizations who are not normally in contact with each other will connect and be inspired to embark on new projects of transformation. The Festival will also reassert our presence on the streets of Hamilton and take back the original history of Mayday. The festival will enable us to connect with the struggles of previous movements and bring awareness to the struggles of today and the possibilities for progressive change. Mayday also brings us together to celebrate progressive culture and the many talents existing in our community. Through the street festival we will create another world for a day – a place where we can live out the possibilities normally silenced by classist, racist, militaristic and patriarchal society. Of course, we also plan on having a damn good time.... Come join us for the party! Street Festival on Saturday, May 5th, 2007 During the festival, a multitude of activities, events, performances, workshops, art endeavors and bonding will occur! Hightlights include: ß An amazing lineup of local musicians playing throughout the day on our main stage ß A drum circle ß Night-time entertainment to be held at Skydragon and Pepperjack Café o Poetry and Spoken Word ß Interactive Art Making ß The incomperable DADA Dance Company ß Random acts of revolutionary weirdness ß Local organizations hosting information tables and workshops on their good work ß Arts, craftwork, and textiles to be sold ß Local, organic and fair trade markets o Kids Play Area o Plus lots more festival fun! After-party Anyone? After all that goodness, we will lead participants directly into the Skydragon centre and Peper Jack Café for a night full of jamming, dancing, and merriment. 20. This show was awesome. Half the charm for me was certainly all the heady heads and the good vibes circulating the area. It was unfortunate about the drums, but I think the fatties were the most upset. The show was on too big a roll to be affected by a missing drum kit. NRPS really liked the crowd here as well. It was mentioned a few times after the show how much they loved the crowd and the night.
