Happy birthday my good man.
-
That's a fine choice my friend. Send me an e-mail telling me everybody who is going to come, and I'll guestlist the lot of you. You have to be there by 10:30, though, because the guestlist stops then. On the nose, apparently.
-
Thanks for adding that, man.
-
Wow man. That is huge.
-
Just learned that Joel and the Thin Line will be second, with Circuit Breaker closing. Gooooood times. We have a pretty wide open guestlist for this show, if you want to come and can be there by 10:30 (guestlist strictly ends then), PM me your name and you're in for free!
-
We're on first at 10:30, cover is $5 I believe.
Joel's backing band is called The Thin Line...and the band is simply Circuit Breaker with a different name. So I will presume that C Breaker will play first, and then Joel will join them after a break. They are both really, really solid acts. C Breaker is for the jam lovers, Thin Line is a complete about-face...a Jeff Buckley-inspired kind of thing. We're really pleased to be on this great bill.

Richard is also awesome. Go early and catch him. I'm not in town tonight or else I'd be hitting it up.

Come on out to Absinthe on Saturday. This is a great bill that we're happy to be a part of. We're on first at 10:30, cover is $5 I believe. Woo hoo!

Meh...so lazy. Logging in and/or registering is such hard work. You should make this more like a Wiki...just my two cents though.
For the show in question, Luke Doucet is indeed headlining, and Matthew De Zoete is also on the bill. I'm playing with Dan Griffin as usual and also sitting in with Matthew. Good times!
-
Right on Dave, see you there.
Bumpity bump. We're going to try and start as close to 9 as possible, and we have to be off at 10. Come on out! No cover!

Hey all, we're playing at the Shoe this Monday, May 14. We're a Southern rock/folk rock/classic rock/jam band kind of band. I play guitar and pedal steel and do a bunch of the singing and a good bit of the writing.
This is our first gig at the Horseshoe and the number of people who come to see us will dictate how interested the club is in our band from now on. So do us a favour and come out, we will love you for it. No cover charge, we'll start sometime after 9 and be done by 10. The Shoe is on the North side of Queen W, a few doors East of Spadina.
Thanks kindly...click here to hear what we sound like.

This is a great site, man, big ups. I'd like to see a feature where I can edit an existing event, though, rather than just adding a new one.
-
Thanks y'all.
Also on the bill are WIL and Modena. Don't know much about either.
-
As usual I'll be on steel with Dan...and there's a good chance I'll be sitting in with Matthew DeZoete, too. Good times.
-
Me: Uhhhhh..... "p" and "h" combine to make an "f" sound, ma'am.
Best ever.

Hey. This Monday, the Achievers are playing at Casbah. I'm in the Achievers. I play guitar and pedal steel. And I sing some, and I write a bunch. Joan Smith is also in the band, on guitar and vocals; then there's Adam Melnick, he's on the bass; then there's good old Isaac Klein, he plays the drums.
Anyway Tuesday is my birthday and I'm not much of a birthday guy, but I figured it'd be a good excuse for me to get drunk on Monday and for you all to join me, if you wish. Cover is $8. We're on at 10. You can check out some Achievers music at myspace.com/theachieversachieve
p.s. As always on Mondays, Casbah will be serving cheap pints of Steamwhistle

Go to this show. Tell my new friends in Paper Airplanes (from Wichita, Kansas) that Aaron says hello...they're young guys, first time in Canada, and they're in love with our country after three days. I played on the bill with them Wednesday night at Casbah. Last night I happened to be in Toronto and caught them playing to a sold-out Sneaky Dee's. Great band. Very indie, but poppy with progressive tendencies. Great players. Youngest guy is 17. His mom, Deb, is on the tour with them. Real, real nice folks who don't want to leave our country now that they're here.
Rock Plaza Central was also great both nights, I'm sure they'll kill it tonight. Banjo, fiddle, great tunes and killer harmonies. Go see this show!

May 8th will be my 24th birthday. I like the Dead. What do I win?
-
That's...great.
You know, that it wasn't good enough to bring in out of the rain.
Thanks for listening!
Rock Plaza Central were awesome. So were Paper Airplanes, aka my new best friends. These dudes are from Kansas and it's their first time in Canada. I was rehearsing in Toronto tonight and caught them again at Sneaky Dee's. Ottawa, don't miss this bill tomorrow.
-
Thanks for clarifying B, I must have missed that. Sweet! Show is cheaper than I thought.
-
We're on at 9:30, followed by The Deviance, Rock Plaza Central and Paper Airplanes. $10 cover (apparently the latter two bands are popular or something?)

Dan Griffin - vocals, electric guitar, mandolin
Mike Acheson - electric and upright bass, vocals
Dave Griffin - acoustic guitar
Adam Melnick - piano, B3 organ
Aaron Goldstein - pedal steel
Tim Oxford - drums

Jhamie. Thank you. And a pleasure to see you on Friday.

Just bumpin' er up...in true obsessive compulsive fashion, I've been listening to the recording from Pepper Jack's frequently since Thursday. There's still work to do with this band...but it's probably the tightest we've sounded. Heavy Drive By Truckers and Gov't Mule influence (if you had to ask me). Giv'er a listen, won't you?
-
This whole record is marvelous...if you're ever out to see Burt or one of Jer's other bands, ask him if he's got any copies left, it's worth buying. Now we've just gotta convince him to put a band together to play the tunes live...

Man...I have been there, twice. It's such an invasion. I feel your pain. Will certainly look out for your guitar.
