  2. I really dislike Walken...saw it in concert and remembered not really liking it then either.

Are you serious? Walken is by far my favourite on the record. The way that one big riff happens ONCE in the middle of the song is genius. The slide playing is fun too.

I'm digging just about every track, but specifically You Are My Face (the Band-esque funky bit in the middle is awesome), Impossibly Germany, Hate It Here, Walken and What Light. I don't really think there's a song I dislike, and the ones that aren't stand-outs I'm sure will grow on me quickly. I don't know if I have the webrip or what, but the quality is great. I'm sure the real deal will be better, but until then this will do.

  3. Oh man...I rarely have time to stumble upon this thread but I've caught you all at a very embarassing time.

$8 Advance. $10 day of show.

This is the CD Release Party for the MUCH, MUCH anticipated second Spades record. I should also note that I play pedal steel with Dan Griffin, and kookycanooky plays keyboards. We're called Dan Griffin & The Northern Lights. Check out some of the tunes on the MySpace. Looking very forward to this gig.

  5. You like 2 chord vamps alot eh Dima?

This is a grosse understatement of what Slowcoaster does in my opinion.

They are all great players and tend not to play stagnant arrangements.

The jazz that infiltrates their sound is refreshing and well handled. Great energy' date=' good hooks, and rock solid groove.[/quote']

I will agree. I am a fan of what they do, and I'm glad they keep doing it.

  6. Hold on a minute...I'm pretty sure they have beer on tap. It just happens to run out now and again.

I'm sure that Brodie is well stocked up for St. Patties and they'll be serving the usual draught selection.

Don't stay at the Winking Judge too long, you'll miss the Achievers!

  7. Wow, the dated 'fuck off' picture. That's intense committment to telling someone to fuck off over the internet.

That Oysterhead was a killer show. I was way into that record for a long time. Band of Gypsies' "Changes" for the encore, and I had just freshly been on a long Band of Gypsies kick too. Massey Hall, the softseatedness of it all, felt like the Filmore East.
