Not 100% but I'd say in the 11pm neighbourhood?
Hey here's Blog #3!
-
Ok here's #2. Greetings from the Exchange in Regina, where Regina apparently can somewhat rock on a Tuesday night. Fun! Edmonton tomorrow!
-
It's come to our attention that after viewing the following, people think we've been eating a bunch of shit out here. Which we have, make no mistake. But it's also been awesome and there have been great shows since this blog. Those cancellations were in shitty tweener towns (sorry Kenora and Gimli). Greetings from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where we played an awesome show last night with Whale Tooth, Robyn Dell'Unto and Sean Pinchin. More tomorrow from Regina!

ATTENTION:
You want one of these

Added a Guelph date. That last TBA should clear up soon...
I should mention...in Peterborough and Ottawa, we'll open for QFF. So your attendance by virtue of late flight might not entirely work out BWM...sorry...thanks for trying though.
-
If you live in any of these towns, or know anybody there (I'm looking at you, Gimli), please send them out to see us! Forever endebted! If you don't already like us on Facebook or CBC3 or follow us on Twitter that'd help us out too if ya could, ya know! A few more dates still to be added in Oct...
Thanks,
TheGoodRev, kookycanooky, and two guys you don't know

According to that website they're holding it in Grand Bend, which is a sweet locale but approx. 2hrs away from the party in Port Dover. Lineup is pretty ruling though.
I'm headed to Dover myself to play with LHO...don't even really know what the venue is. Will report back.
-
i guess thegoodrev was running a bit late but it worked out beauty in the end.
Yeah...I live in Toronto now. Traffic was fucked. Took me more than two hours! I guess I should have known...
Had a great time this weekend...
-
Yeah I guess the horns were an invention in my brain. And it turns out the one I saw was the Leno performance, but it was the same tune.
-
Saw them on Letterman with a bass player and horns and such...I guess the extra guys aren't touring?
-
This is always a good time and FREE of charge too.
I'm doing 5pm Friday with Stumbleweed and 5pm Saturday with Lee Harvey Osmond.
Strangely they seem to have put me on a Sunday workshop without notifying me. Sorry to report that it's unlikely I'll even be in town on Sunday, though if I manage to say I'll sit in with Terra Lightfoot earlier and then probably skip the workshop on principle.
See you all Friday!

Here I am looking at the setlist and I see "Power of Soul", and I go, hey I'd like to hear this. And lo and behold there is a download link. Thank you Kanada Kev, for taking the guesswork out of stealing.

I'm playing with Lee Harvey Osmond at 8pm Friday on the Island Stage' date=' stop by if you're so inclined![/quote']
incredible set! loved it. you gusy were really good. heavy weight set of the nite for me. was that actually neil young's sister who sang the last song? lol.
... and was that a china cat noodle
Thanks...yes that was indeed Astrid Young. She gets up to sing with us whenever the schedules align.
And you bet that was a China Cat noodle!
I caught a bunch of Calexico last night and they were great. Also Yukon Blonde ruled. Also right after us in the Island Tent was Minotaurs who blew my MIND, especially because they used to be the four-piece Nathan Lawr & The Minotaurs and were essentially a country-rock type outfit, and they're now an 8 or 9-piece Afrobeat band with Nathan still up front. Threw me for a loop but it was way fun. Brasstronaut was after them and they too were great. Saw Royal Wood today before I left, awesome.
Guelph Mercury article from this morning
^ I have to link this, cause I was secretly pleased that it mentions Huron (even though there are only two of us in LHO, not three)

Listening to BradM's recording (thanks man!) has me thinking two things:
1) Holy shit, Fake Jerry is eerily bang-on
2) I wish I had gone to this!
-
Ends at 11. Not possible to do both. Too bad, would love to see the stooges.
...but plenty of time to get the Shoe to see us...
-
These shows tend to be 10-15 bucks if you don't have a pass. If it's busy inside sometimes they'll hold non-passholders for a while and then eventually let you in.
We (Huron) were lucky to be asked to play the Horseshoe on the Saturday night with Attack in Black, Bruce Peninsula, Hannah Georgas and Library Voices. The whole thing is gonna be broadcast live-to-air on CBC 3. We're on at 1am for anybody who's gonna be near a computer and up late!

That was funny, but after following some Funny or Die links I came across this, which I thought was brilliant. If you've got 10 minutes I highly recommend it. And don't let the fact that Jason Biggs is in it deter you:

Yeah I missed that altogether, $450 for that Tele is a fair deal.
Is it the Donahue with body binding and black guard, like this?
-
I played a real cool cheapo today at Paul's Boutique in Toronto and thought about you, Mike. It's a Mann, which I think means it was manufactured by Garnet? At least the Mann amps were.
Anyway I can't find a picture of it on the internet anywhere but it was natural in colour, neck-thru-body (!), two humbuckers, double cutaway with round horns like a 335 but solid body and a little smaller than a 335. Cool guitar! The neck pickup was great, bridge pickup a little weak but probably just needed to be raised up a bit. Worst case scenario you pop something new in there and you'd still be under budget, because they're asking...wait for it...
$349.
The guitar had a mojo about it for sure...way more than any new MIM Tele. It's not something that everybody would love, but it was definitely up my alley. Better run in there and grab it before I do...

Yeah that's me on that Loft session...we did it during the last leg, in April, at the old XM headquarters in DC, the morning before a gig in Falls Church, VA. I also did a Loft session with Tom Wilson (Lee Harvey Osmond) last fall. The XM headquarters is unbelievable.
Sorry to keep you hanging on the restaurant review, bouche! I went walking and knew I was looking for a Thai place on Pearl Street...but I don't know if I missed it or it closed up cause I didn't get there. Found a great Indian joint though, which may or may not have been your EXCELLENT place. It was quite good though. Right in that neighbourhood too, next to a fair-trade coffee type place.
Greetings from Great Barrington, Mass., where I'll play my last Junkies show for a while tonight. Then it's back home and back on the Huron bandwagon.
