  1. I think it was a massive oversight at the time (1977) when a new citizenhip act was brought in, but I'm honestly not sure.
  2. This is a wacky issue that has been around for years, I've spoken with Don Chapman many many times....poor guy.
  3. dude, you're getting closer and closer to chimichangas! c'mon fire up that deep fryer and make it happen!
  4. EnerGuide was an actual "Made in Canada" program as the Cons like to talk about....and the original program gave extra $$ to low-income families, who not being part of the middle class Conservative base, are not included in the program anymore.
  5. Dude, take it to the "proposed forum" forum will ya...
  6. Wow - what a great time! We flared out after Friday night but packed enough fun into Fri/Sat to last awhile. The band was great. People were great. Vibe was great. I was calling it the jamband Grammy awards, maybe next time we should get Joan Rivers to work the red carpet.
  7. I think every registered user should have a forum. Oh Miiiiii-ke.....
  8. Embarassing sports moments from my youth: 1) Playing hockey in junior novice, I was in net. My Mom was in the stands, and all the action on the rink was down at the other end, so I skated over to Mom and had a chat. Other team comes down the ice and scores. 2) A few years later, I'm playing defence I think. Player from the other team has a breakaway, as the closest guy to him, in the moment I figure I can deflect his shot on net by throwing my stick right when he shoots, deflecting the puck. Doesn't work, throwing your stick is a penalty shot. I don't think they scored in either. 3) Back in net in like pee-wee or whatever, our regular goalie has behavioural problems and the coaches want to try someone else - I volunteer. Have one decent practice where I figure I can swing it. I'm in net for 1 game, against one of the not-so-good teams in the league, final score is like 11-11. My last game in net. 4) Softball. I hit a grandslam homerun, highlight of my sports career up until that point. Back in the dugout basking in the adulation, drunkard coach comes up to me and informs me: "you didn't touch home plate". Thanks guy. .....you can see why sailing is now my sport of choice.
  9. If it was a general food topic it should be over there, but Weirdness' question was pertinent to THIS weekend, and seeing others from out of town will be in Ottawa, they too could benefit from the info being on the main board, dig?
  10. Would you like some cheese with your whine?
  11. I can't believe you can just brush away all historical detail, analysis, circumstance, comparison - everything and just say: I find that unbelievable. I would like to see you sit down with a war historian, ie. an expert, I think I would enjoy it.
  12. Alas I think it's fair to say that most of the middle east and Iraqis don't subscribe to the definition of war you found on dictionary.com I think in terms of perception, which is reality, it was viewed as an unprovoked invasion by an outside power, a Christian one at that.
  13. We've yet to hit the mark on THE Chinese place in O-town, agreed on So Good....generally good, but not a bullseye...
  14. Actually, it was an unprovoked invasion. BIG difference.
  15. Iraq, the middle east and therefore the world is more unstable and unsafe now than it was prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
  16. Mav's Sat. Confirmed.
  17. If you like Indian, Light of India on Bank St.
  18. Again, it's not so black and white. Watch this clip with Bill O'Reilly and Bill Maher, at about 4:16 O'Reilly tries to make the case they "they all lie"....Maher's response is great, ie. Clinton lied about a blowjob but Bush bankrupted the country, $600 billion pricetag on Iraq so far, and all the porkbarrel politics etc. Good stuff.
  19. I was being tongue in cheek as well, so don't be so sensitive.
