I can't make out the lyrics on that clip but I'm wondering if that song is about this one guy in particular. A guy I knew from Trent who passed away at the end of July. His name was Phil and he was from the far north. He was a great guy, solid, passionate, very attuned to nature. He died while breaking a world record for the longest single rope repel.. 4000 feet. No one else in his group died, and how it happened remains mostly mystery.

As per usual, The Sadies are playing at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern on New Years Eve. Tickets are on sale now. I'm not sure if they usually have an opener or not for their New Years show. (anyone know?) I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go but haven't made the purchase yet. ANyone else going to check this out?
