Wicked. Thanks for the tips guys.

I saw this earlier. Holy SHEE-AT I am primed for this, and I'm not even a moe.ron by any stretch of the imagination.
-
Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds less like "The Dead" and more like "Rat Dog with special guests Mickey and Bill" to me. I think it would be ridiculous to have a GD 40th ainniversary hootenany without Phil, but then again Bobby isn't calling me much these days to ask my opinion either. It's also just a PT rumour at this point, and those tend to have about a 7% conversion to truth rate.

I feel that this quick response means that I am entitled to floor space???
Ha ha ha...You got it, man! Think of it as payback for the Bonnaroo ticket you hooked me up with a couple of years ago.
I'm psyched that moe. will be playing the Olympic Centre. Lake Placid is the perfect place for a band that size, and both the Dead and Phish have played the venue before (although Phish was permanently banned after the mess left behind in '97). Thinking of all those kind folk coming onto my home turf puts a big ol' smile on my face.
Thanks for making my day, Basher.
Edit to add: I'd be more than happy to offer up advice to anyone on getting to LP (three hours from Ottawa, door-to-door), where to stay, bars, etc. over the coming months. Consider me your local tour guide!

On Saturday moe announced that snow.down will take place this March in Lake Placid at the Olympic hockey rink - see y'all there!
Basher, do you have any more info on this? Is it confirmed for sure? I haven't been able to find anything else about it, but seeing as how Lake Placid is where I live most of the time these days, this news interests me greatly. Now taking reservations for floor space during snoe.down!

Et est-ce que c'est un vrai mot, un jambandeur?
Moi, je prefere une jambandeuse/les jambandeuses.

Thanks a heap for this, headygouda. I've been diggin' this on and off all afternoon. Earl Scruggs and friends was great, and who knew there was more to Bobby McFerrin than "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and the one theme he did for "The Cosby Show"?
Peace,

U,F. Productions (Shane, right?),
I speak only for myself here, but I find your post pretty opportunistc (in the worst way) and unprofessional. Predatory moves like that do nothing to bolster the vibe of "community" that so many people come around here and go to the shows for. I know you've been on "the scene" longer than I have, but I see you posting that on this thread as pretty bad form - especially given the extensive delays and broken timeline promises everyone put up with while you got the Shoreline schedule out this year.

Hart

I'm not a John Mayer fan, but anyone who doubts his capabilities as a blues ninja needs to check out his Austin City Limits show, where he played with Double Trouble, and Buddy Guy as well. I had previously written him off completely, but was left with my jaw on the floor after watching him let the blues fly. Personally, I'm looking somewhat foreward to seeing how he deviates from his previous musical persona.
Then again, I still think Trey's pretty rad, so what do I know?

And revolution in the air"
I'm on a huge Tangled up in Blue/Blood on the Tracks kick right now. The one album I never grow tired of and can't do without. I know I'm not alone here on this one either.
That is all.

Worm Cam, who posts over on the Hub, has done one as well (it might actually be the one that Schwa has), which is pretty appealing, visually. There's also a 100 GD songs one that came before the Phish posters.
-
Q. What did the Phish Head say when he ran out of drugs?
A. "Man, these guys really DO suck."
-
Wicked good. I have the same computer, so that should set me up well.
Thanks brother.

You'll also need a BitTorrent client, a program to expand .shn files (Shorten) and a program to expand .flac files (FLAC). I use a Mac, so I'm probably no help with which ones to grab...
Del, what programs do you use for all of that? I'm a Mac user too and have had mixed success with some of the above procedures. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What's that about Ottawa Bluesfest?
(In light of last week's announcement, I think I'm being a little greedy here).
-
SHIT BALLS!
This has me amped beyond belief. Here I was feeling sorry for myself that I wasn't going to be able to make any major concert trips this summer, and that my first Ottawa summer since 99 was going to be relatively uneventful. Not so much.
Thanks for making my day, heady gouda.
Peace,

My bad, thanks Easu. Looks like I need to check things out here a little more often.
-
Just wondering what anybody's heard about about Ottawa Bluesfest performers. Xavier Rudd is the only one I know so far, and damnit I don't feel like waiting for the April 27th announcement. Anyone? Bueller....?

I was really hoping to see The Word play a set each of the last two years, since all the members were there. Today's announcement has me drifting even further from my stance that 2004 would be my last Bonnaroo. Damn you, Robert Randolph!
-
I'm pretty pumped for this one. I haven't seen them for a couple of years, but they've certainly never disappointed me. I agree that twenty bones is a little steep for Barrymore's on a week night, but I'll have no problems sacrificing a beer or two to make up for it.

I'm wondering if maybe half the floor would be ice and the other half, well, actual floor. I have to say I'm pretty intrigued. I love strapping on the blades, but I don't know if that will be too bright an idea when moe. is on stage raging and my blood is singing with booze and what-have-you.
