Being more a student of the Wild West than the wild world of the Internet, I'm not quite sure what to make of it.
I am also a "student" of the Wild West. Ride on, Cowboy.

This is indeed good sheeat. I posted the BT link to the whole weekend yesterday, and have really dug what I've heard so far (being relatively inexperienced, as far as moe. goes around these parts).
-
I haven't had any problems with BT, and I'm on Rogers, although looks like I should pull down everything I can now.

Shain,
Haven't had the chance to meet you yet, but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My best to you over these days and weeks.
In a bed, in a bed, by the waterside I will lay my head.
Listen to the river sing sweet songs, to rock my soul.
Peace,
Hart

I still miss my old back country copless road and the carp river.
I remember seeing a sign at the first Sens game at the Palladium reading "Carp River Yact Club." It still makes me laugh when I think about it.
-
Is this old news? I was surprised when I stumbled on it just now. I still miss "The Palladium."

May God Bless America, and this rooster.

That lifetime achievement grammy is embarrassingly overdue, but glad to see that he's going to get some recognition. Definitely one musician who's contribution to American music cannot be overstated.

Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East
I had been a "greatest hits" type of Allmans fan before this one turned me on to their mind-bending blues jams, and the genius that was Brother Duane. Fillmore East has been in constant rotation for a few years now.

Welcome, although quitting while you're ahead might be a good idea.

The motherload of GD videos at You Tube.

I'll be sure and swing by Tweed and wish The King a happy birthday.

That was great, Jaydawg. The only thing I had seen from that episode were the musical performances.
-
Beautiful, thanks Esau. It's funny, after seeing that tune nailed by two different bands over the weekend (including DSO on NYE) it's been in my head for three straight days. A perfect way to start the week.

I'm with you there, brotha. Hellloooooooo, gift bags.

Actually, I'm not sure. I thought SCI also did it, but I can't remember when. I just did a quick search, and I think you're right that they haven't played it.
I think I may have fallen prey to that same mislabelling problem. I think I had a copy of Gin and Juice in .mp3 allegedly by SCI, but I'll bet that one was also The Gourds.
That's probably what happened. I've seen that same mp3 labeled as being by each of Phish, SCI, The Gourds, Barenaked Ladies and Ween, just to name the ones off the top of my head.
-
I'm pretty sure that the version MoMack is asking about was the Gourds. The .mp3 is mislabeled all over the net.
SCI also does Gin and Juice, though.
Are you sure? I'm almost positive they don't, and I just checked zzyzx's SCI stats page, and he doesn't have a listing for that song.

Can pricebasher.ca beat the price?
(Psyched for this, even though the AUD I already have is pretty good).

"Pssst. Hey - no, don't look at me. Look straight ahead. Listen close - midnight tonight, you and me are breaking out of this place."

I gotta admit, that was a funny SNL!
loved the spelling bee too.
I've been scouring the net for the spelling bee for the past 24 hours and haven't been able to find it.
"Can you spell the word?"
"Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-Q..."

My roomate and I busted up hard when we saw it Sat. night, and have laughed just as hard watching it since. There were a few solid moments on that episode, actually. I'm Ghost like Swayze.

This guy's work is incredible, and meticulous to say the least. I've been using his site for a few years, and have even cited it in an academic paper or two.
A great companion to it is the Grateful Dead Lyric and Song Finder, which helps you find tunes (including rarities and covers) if all you know is a word or two.
-
It worked for me a couple of hours ago - something must have happened in the meantime.

I think it bears mentioning that the dates at MSG aren't booked, but a hold has been put on them, meaning that Phish/JEMP has "first dibs," but if another band wants to book the venue for those dates, Phish would need to book it officially or give it up.
As for a potential return (regardless of whether or not the recent rumours are true), I think that for the four guys in the band, things had spun so completely out of control with drugs and hangers on (over three thousand people backstage at Coventry) that the only answer for them was to cut it off right then and just get out, without thinking about a potential reunion. I really don't think when they made the decision that they were thinking "Yeah, we can get back together in a couple of years." With that said, perhaps a chance to sober up a bit and escape the scene, while making music they (Trey) want to outside of the Phish microscope (at least partially) was what they needed to unwind, and with that done they can happily get back together.
Personally, I was a late joiner and only attended a handful of shows before it ended, so I would love to see them back together if it can work for the four of them.
