  1. if the inside is "fried" then, no, batteries won't help. If it won't power up with fresh batteries then something is wrong internally. If you are tech-savy and alright with a soldering gun, open it up and look for visual clues of malfunction. beyond that these are NOT worth fixing. If no sound but powers up, try with headphones. Radioshack's canadian brand "Realistic" also makes this exact model. Value village and ebay will probably fetch one for under $20. Adaptors are really easy to come by, just read the input voltage and amps and look for one at value village. there are lots of resources for this keyboard on the web. goodluck!
  2. bumpin'. this hootenany is toonight! 8$ at the door gets you a limited edition "a little bit of history" CD. 3 bands starting at 10. Chupacabrah.
  3. http://radio3.cbc.ca/bands/Cam-Malcolm/ that link indeed will take you to the cbc where you can listen to a new album by Cam Malcolm (of Sweet Homewreckers fame). It is being performed in its entirety + lots more + terra lightfoot + Columbus Ohio's 'Terribly empty pockets'. CD release - Casbah, May 1. check out his sweet digs.
  4. Da durp dee durp da teetly derpee derpee dumb. Hope the island is treating your right! Sweet O!
  5. My dad's been using uTorrent...no idea if its encrypted. I've been using Azureus for a long time and i've never had any issues.
  6. Check out this email my dad received from Rogers...I've been using bittorrent for years...he tries once and this is what happened...any tips/suggestions (aside from ignore the email)? thanks dima, maybe delete your post too? they basically know exactly whats been downloaded...I always thought they send a threatening email with a vague idea that something has been downloaded and not specifically. crazy.
  7. well the only thing sockhop about last week was the midnight shift, hamilton's premier Buddy Holly tribute act. What a drunk fest. Hear for yourselves: Midnight Shift - Looking for Someone to Love Dan Griffin & the Regrets - Summertime / Stars and Satellites Surly Young Bucks (5 very drunk tunes) Come over girl and Thing about us are Cam Malcolm originals. Don't Do It is slopped out and played to a very forgiving audience, we thank them endlessly.
  8. I'm surprised they're playing old tunes on the website...which just adds to the anticipation. seee you there paisley
  9. dicks picks 14 has always been a favourite of mine, oct 30/31 '73 I believe...this should be good!
  10. I miss ben folds five (and i'm not ashamed to admit it).
  11. this is bullcrap. fuckin' 3 exams on the 14, 15 and 16th. What say you jambands? does one go on this tour and jeopardize finals?
  12. I"ll see your 'wow' and raise you one bacon cheesburger from Groucho's. Your move, bo-bandy.
  13. It makes you wonder why genesis didn't change their name when Hackett left and the music started going to (very) new places. The musical divison is black and white...it hardly makes sense to call 80's genesis by that name. But then again what do I know...they kept it and became world famous. 80's pop stuff aside (i think i've made my point there), i can't get behind the re-vamped versions of pre-'75 songs and those damn medleys. I make an exception for some 1976 stuff, Dance on a Volcano > drums > Los endos is pretty fucking cool. For what its worth, I only got into genesis in the first place because of the Musical box, so that would probably explain my extreme left and right views of the band. Were people smoking inside at the Tioa show, kev? or does the new music hall enforce? Its just not a musical box show unless its hot-boxed to high hell.
  14. "....get ready to go on your walk...gets nasty? get down to business"...wow
  15. I said "Is Turn it on Again that bullshit 80's genesis?", not "is that bullshit Turn it on Again who play that bullhisht 80's genesis...". I dont question their ability to "put on a great show" for their fans, rather my opinon is that 80's genesis music was bullshit for the most part.
  16. YES, you should have mentioned this. I only got tickets yesturday, and a little farther back then I would have liked. The price is high, but i'm still going to both nights. Can you put a price on time travel? I think not. I am just peaved because these music hall shows used to be in the $40 range. (although, I did secretely wish for this...massey hall sucks big balls for a band like this). I'm a little hazy but this will be my 16th and 17th shows. Also, this is the first time in recorded history that we will get to see these shows in a warm season, as they've always played in the dead of winter. I can't wait to veg on the patio all day saturday before this one. Kev, is Turn it on Again that bullshit 80's genesis with the old Musical Box drummer? Does this mean he will be playing with them again in toronto?
  17. Musical box will return with their farewell farewell tour for Selling England by the Pound, this time at their original lair in toronto, the Danforth Music Hall. Unfortunately they are all high on glue fumes and think they are actually genesis, and will be charging accordingly. Tickets run from $55 (balcony) and $65 (floors). other dates of interest: 2008-05-16 LA BAIE - PALAIS MUNICIPAL 2008-05-17 QUEBEC - LE THEATRE CAPITOLE 2008-05-18 QUEBEC - LE THEATRE CAPITOLE 2008-05-20 GATINEAU - MAISON DE LA CULTURE 2008-05-30 MONTRÉAL - BELL CENTER 2008-06-06 TORONTO - DANFORTH MUSIC HALL 2008-06-07 TORONTO - DANFORTH MUSIC HALL
