    water drama

I believe the safe range is five minutes really (5-10 anyway), but its always better safe then sorry. I've also read conflicting accounts about giardia (for example) that state it dies before the boiling point, but again, I rather wait a few more minutes then get beaver fever. Of course, this was for lakes, rivers, ponds (still waters) etc.

You'll probally want to boil your water longer then one minute, considering some viruses, toxins & parasites (e.g. giardia) can survive past the boiling point. When my ex & I took our outdoor survival course it was recommended we boil our water for a minimum of ten minutes. This was also the recommendation given to us when we backpacked through the Yukon up to the artic circle.
  6. Possibly. I wasn't planning on going out this weekend but I am slightly tempted to see what the band sound like. What time are they taking the stage? If I've got the energy at the end of the work day I might hual my laptop over there and record the show. Try to post if you can or not before 6pm Willy if you don't mind, because I mentioned yesterday to Shane in a PM I'll be heading to St.Catherines to visit my aunt & I could come home in time to make it down to record, but if someone else is going to record, then I'll not worry about making sure I get back to Hamilton tonight. Currently, recording is the only reason I was going to return tonight, so if you are going to do it, then I don't need to worry about gettin a ride back tonight.

La Pouppee Qui Fait Non [stereo, instrumental] 3:40 This four-disc set has nearly every mix and take (recorded prior to 5/67) of the tracks that appeared on "Are You Experienced" (Europe and US) and the frst 3 European singles. Vinyl, CD, and tape were used as sources. Ben Franklin numbers are given for each track. Outtake material from Out of the Studio, Out of the Studio 2, Olympic Gold, and Are You Experienced The Sessions was examined, and the best version of each take was used. This means stereo where available. In the case of Purple Haze (4), there are 2 unique mixes, so both were included. This set contains the complete AYE monos released on Track and Reprise. Although the mixes are the same on both releases, you may hear differences in the overall sound. Both of these are hard enough to find in good condition that it seemed better to include both. Which you prefer will be a matter of opinion. The vinyl tracks were manually declicked, and then subjected to a light automated de-crackle. There is still noise in places, but some types of vinyl noise are nearly impossible to remove completely. These tracks still sound pretty good, though. Besides channel averaging on the mono cuts, no other processing was done to the vinyl tracks. The chat intro to Red House (Disc 1 tr 9) was not edited onto tr 10. This was in case people wanted to easily extract the Track mono cuts to generate a Track mono CD. Also, the Track vinyl was used for Remember (1) and Red House (1), even though both of these have appeared on official CD. This was so that the complete Track release would be included. They sound pretty good despite their checkered past :-) Timings given are for the songs, not for the time between CD indexes. 9. I ain't pissed about it, not in the least. Nor am I concerned about getting anything, I just think its good practice to follow through with what you signed up for is all. Hence my suggestion.
  10. You see Rob, had I been referring to you or Stoned Phillips, I would have just said so. It was a suggestion, not an accusation, seeing as I'm in the same boat as Stu, as well, so are others.
  11. Maybe some folks could finish up last years before signing up for this years...
  12. I don't think The Slip is "going with this"; I get the feeling she's doing this herself' date=' without any involvement from the band. Aloha, Brad[/quote'] Yeah, you got it Brad. She's friends with the band and all, I know that much but this is something she's doing on her own. From my interactions with her on another board, she's a stand up gal, as I'm sure mattyp & Mister Slippery will agree.
