  1. A normal Monday night means there's room for everyone and plenty of elbow room. However, during holidays, reading weeks etc., it gets busier than a one-legged short person in an ass-kicking contest. You can usually score a good spot at 9:30/10:00. The Sisters have been playing there coming up on 8 years and I have a feeling it's soon going to be a zoo. But how can you beat $5.00 at the door???

  2. Actually jon, it was I, can'o'phish who you saw recording the show. I've recorded pretty much every show since October. All I can say is there's something in the works...

KevO - Kevin turned Norah down on her upcoming tour. He'll be at TOR steady. I'm liking the low profile thing 'cause it means seeing the Sisters in a not-so-packed-like-sardines-in-a-can environment.

    Next week :)

  3. Well after watching our team scrape by on the skills of Belfour, it was off to TOR. Never ones to disapoint, the Sisters played selections from years past and broke out a new one, "Big Al" which went over huge with the Monday night crowd. Summed up, the evening was that of an endurance test. The sets were long and juicy and the band was cookin'. It's nice to have the Sisters home for awhile after the recent hiatus.

  4. You asked for "trash talk" so here it is.

From CBC Sports: Quote - "We've got to put it behind us," said Ottawa defenceman Wade Redden. "We obviously don't feel good about it, but it's not like they really dominated us." End Quote. - reference to last game of season.

OK. The Leafs KICKED the Sens asses. If 6 - 0 isn't domination, what is? The only other way for the Leafs to dominate the Sens would be if they dressed in leather and chains, but that would've been pointless 'cause the Sens were already the Leafs' bitches....

Leafs in 5. Ottawa has some great players, but they don't have it in the tank.

Toronto/Montreal. That'll be nice to see.

  5. Well for those of you who sat at home in Toronto on Monday night, you missed a stellar night at The Orbit Room. Giggles, Paul & I had the pleasure to see Cyro sit in for a couple of tunes with Kevin & The Sisters Euclid. The whole night was just intense. And of course, I recorded the whole damn event.

So email this address to request copies of the show: vanbreit@interlog.com

    My brain is repeating: wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow....

    Happy Easter All!!!

  6. Sounds like the "tracking" in your player is kaput. The only way to fix this is to have it serviced. Ask for a quote, as sometimes it is less expensive to buy a new player than to get the old one fixed. If you are going to get it repaired, ASK FOR THE OLD PARTS TO BE RETURNED WITH THE PLAYER WHEN YOU PICK IT UP. DO THIS WHEN YOU TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIR, NOT WHEN YOU PICK IT UP. There are so many repair shops that'll do a quick fix and charge for "new parts" that have never been put in your player.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Happy New Year

  7. Must agree, JUKE JOINT definitely were such a pleasure to take in. Unfortunately, they have gone their seperate ways to persue other venues. Rumour has it that James Quinn, guitarist from DownTime and Dave, drummer from Juke Joint, are putting together a trio. Let's keep our fingers crossed 'cause I think it would be a welcomed addition to this scene and the music community in general.

    In Peace,

  8. Hey all. A word to the wise, and those obviously wiser than me..... DO NOT USE MAXELL 124 DATS FOR TAPING SHOWS!!!! They're not always great for capturing the moment as I was so unfortunate to find out. Taped the Nero/Tala show from the CZ when they were in town last and ended up with digital dung.

But I'll be out taping the Rivoli show and London show. Haven't taped at the Rivoli before. Any tapers have a suggestion for what I should bring? I'll be taping with the DA-P1 so if someone can give me a dig-patch, I would be most appreciative.

    Keep the groove going....

  9. A cardboard box, eh? Now that's loyalty. I've got my home and away shirts, my toque and lighters for all games. But I don't consider myself "hardcore" as I've seen many fans who's loyalty and sheer admiration is incredible. But you get a good mix of fans anywhere and the difference between everyone is cool.

Good job on the definition Phakinit!!! Always have a dictionary close by!!!!!

    Cheers....Can

  10. Well there's a question.....Every fan, or phan, in my opinion is different. What makes a fan? Loyalty to the team? Knowing stats? Quirky game get-up garb? All of the above or none of the above? You be the judge. That's a tough question. A different answer for every person I'd say.

    Cheers....Can

  11. If I were in the capitol, I'd meet up to watch the game. But alas, I'm in T.O. and possibly working late but keeping the fingers crossed to get out and have a pint or two while watching the shenanigans. Good luck to the Sens, but I'll be cheering for the Leafs, a team that I've been following faithfully all season and caught a few games at the ACC. Seems that rubberdinghy feels we're not true fans.....ha ha ha; couldn't resist that dig!!!!!

    Cheers all..... grin.gif" border="0

  12. Well I see that the "wine" didn't taste so good to a few of the Sens fans, but like I said before, it's all in fun. I was really hoping to see the Habs take out Carolina, but maybe next year. The 10 minute bullsh_t call on Gilmour was pathetic. The officiating in the series as a whole has been terrible. Nothing has been consistant. Enough said on that topic. So to all watching the game tonight, may the best team win and bring the cup back home to Canada.

    Cheers!!!!!

  13. BRING IT ON BABY!!!!! While this has been one hell-uv-a round two series, one must think if the Leafs had some of their players back who are injured, would it have gone this far??? If it wasn't for Roberts and the whole team contributing, I don't think the Leafs would have made it. Character for sure. I'm sick of hearing people calling the Leafs "Whiners". If any other team had to put up with the bad calls and un-calls, I'm sure they'd be just as frustrated. However, it's all in fun and it's made for some great hockey. Toronto is going to go nuts on Tuesday. Hope the Sens have ghost repellant 'cause they must be feeling haunted by seasons past........

    What is that saying??????

    Oh yeah, GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!!!

  14. "A True Canadian"

It's game seven of the final round for Lord Stanley's Cup and a man shows up and takes his seat third row, center ice. There is an empty seat beside him. After the game starts, he leans over and asks the person on the other side of the empty seat if he knows the story behind the "empty seat". The fellow replies, "It's my wife's seat. We've gone to every single playoff game in the 45 years that we've been married. But she passed away." The other gentleman offers his condolences and asks why the man didn't bring one of his friends instead. The widower replied,"They're all at the funeral!"
