...man, what a QoD indeed!?!
when it comes to hollywood pullin' the heart strings, i am the demographic! but here are some of the top tear-jerkers (in no particular order):
1) charlotte's web
2) the champ (ricky schroeder as the constantly sobbing kid)
3) me pops
4)any movie where a dog, a horse, a goose, whatever finds an untimely demise at the hands of evil hunters
5) i can see clearly now
6) most supertramp tunes (nostalgia-wise)
I was recently at a funeral for a co-workers husband and they played "i shall be released" and i can honestly say that it was one of the most moving moments...
P.S. I suggest "Flesh Magnolias", an equally touching film that still requires a box of kleenex...

adios...

once saw a stripper (her name was "Barbie" and eventually had to change it because of the doll of the same name) who did a routine with Ernie and Bert dolls...it gives the statement
quote:
Ernie is big and Bert is little
a more than warped twist!!!
anyway, with all of our dogs and cats lounging on the bed, the only doll i can fit on the bed is my wife....

normally i woulda edited that, but clam sounds so much more appropriate!

the apfelbaum site didn't list any particulars, just the range of dates and the TBA...now it doesn't even list that...
may be the clam before the storm...

...please refer to the warning i gave above
i would first broach the subject with the person who would authorize the pay raise and get a feel for what their expectations are... if they jive with the 25-40% you're looking for, then VOILA! you've got your raise. Otherwise, you would need to dig your heels in and make some sort of argument in favour of the pay-hike you'd expect...
by the sounds of it, you shouldn't have much of a problem making your point!

hey LJ,
its spooky how your situation closely resembles what i went through about five months ago at the company i'm with
originally, i was "signed on" (figuratively, i never did get a contract) for a month or so. then the woman i was working for left/was let go at precisely the moment they had made plans to hire a third person to team up with us.
now, here i is about four/five months later, doing the work of what was to be three people with no contract and a few promises! i'm not bitter, 'cuz the pay is good, the work is crazy and the people are great...its just the fact that they kinda got me by the kahunas and don't seem to be too worried about me. if i were to threaten drastic actions, i'm sure they'd get up off their seats and move, but i'm too much of a push-over
Moral of the Story: judging by my situation, don't take any advice i might offer, get something in writing and a bird in the hand is worth a gift horse in the mouth

Well, now that we've had some time to recuperate from Leonard & Bilbo, here's another little ditty of unspeakable evil... you can catch this on Teletoon (monday-friday @ 9:30am/1:30am)...first bloody time i saw it was post party and very terrifying!

being a married man (and therefore what is usually considered a "safe" male) , i can always act as a chaperone...you know, to keep the leeches away and make sure everyone's panties are accounted for....
sounds like andrea had a night that any Kingston Pen inmate would call a dream come true!

plus, i'm still waitin' for show-whore to send me some paraphernalia...plus, if anyone wants, CFRC (the campus radio station) is right below me and I can always sabotage their studio...

I understand that it's more interesting to meet others that you can share a conversation with about a particular show, but eventually, these newbies can offer that to you
...i like that one too! all of the diehards i've had the chance to talk with so far have been more than willing to curb their enthusiasm and 'talk down' (in a very good way) to me... just to prevent a cranial overload on my part!
happy to be
under the sea
in an octopus' garden
in the scene

okay...okay...as an undeserving recipient I must - if this fits with puds rules of play - sign the prize off to anyone who can tell me what the following pic hides in its murky 3D depths
quickly now, young jedis!

sometimes it pays to be oblivious like me!
anyway, a pinner would do just fine in lieu
good one wit da "stick" booche... i was kinda thinkin about the "stick" they use to scoop the dice in craps, but i'm sure it ain't called a stick...

even though I shouldn't be doin' this, i will... just to narrow it down for Booche!
HERE'S MY ONE GUESS:
Kansas City Municipal Auditorium, Kansas City, MO (7/7/81)
...consider this a blatant guess from a peon, but i need to start trimming down the field!

they all look like nice girls...
i bet the blue one has a nice personality!
-
that's the worst thing when you state what is likely the obvious (cancelling a show + lots of anxious fans = trouble, no matter what band it is, or what venue) and its made to look like a threat...
i call it the "Entertainment Tonite Effect" which is directly proportional to the inverse of the average IQ of the demographic most likely to listen to the crap wannabe journalism...

i think those Czech dudes say it best:
