  6. http://www.kellerwilliams.net/?q=node/981 I did a show the other night in Dallas with "That 1 Guy". The first time I saw him was at the evolve fest in nova scotia. But the show I did with him really slapped me in the face with the realization that this 1 guy is a genius. He plays a one of a kind, 2-string contraption made from 2 thick metal cylinders that are possibly used for industrial or under-ground piping. He has sample triggers all over it and packs the intensity of a full-blown rock show. The music is slightly dark with elements of "zappa"esque vocals. The show is packed with visual art including magic tricks and illusions. I'm tempted to describe in detail but I'd rather you feel the experience and absorb the surprises for yourself. He's currently on a massive 5-month driving tour. Chances are he's playing close by. Go. p.s. That One Guy plays Toronto on Saturday, March 20th @ Rivoli www.that1guy.com

  9. Thanks for that jab Nibbler - But I wouldn't put you in the category of music fans that "effectively pay my rent, buy me beer, and put food on your table." I don't think you've ever paid to get in to any of my shows. The Opera House has several draw backs - location, security, costs. There's a real lack of good venues in Toronto. Sometimes we have to make concessions to find a suitable place to run shows. There's actually a place that looks like will be a new spot for shows that is a better location. It's called the Great Hall and it's right at Queen St / Dufferin area near Gladstone. I'm working on a show right now with Colonel Bruce Hampton that I will be letting you about really soon, and I think you will all really enjoy the space.
  10. :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: Hope you all can make it out on Thursday, March 4th! Kevin & Ian have promised to put together a special show!

  12. Looking forward to seeing the new Chameleon Project live this Saturday! Demo is sounding fresh!
  13. I hear you on the opera house "security" - I think their bartenders are nice. I think these people become jaded by dealing with some many people all the time they forget to act with humility. I often speak with the staff at the start of my shows and ask them to go easy on my people. Their stance is that if people smoke weed in the place they are liable for the repercussions of the law. miss this place... been in France and East Coast for the past 3 weeks... but I'm back!!
  14. I am please to pass on the message that Kanada Kev is the winner for the Lotus Contest... Thanks to all who entered. The winner was picked at random by a third party and is completely random.
  15. show starts at 9 pm ... two short sets... then one long Kevin Breit & The Sisters set starting at 11pm
