Again... You guys are so lucky! If I was out there I'd make every effort to see both shows. These guys have serious Blue Grass picking skills (amongst the best), but on top of that they're fun, psycedelic, rowdy, funny and fun. They're one of my favourite bands these days and you guys are getting the opertunity to see them in way smaller venues than they ever play anymore.
Here's a link to the last show I saw with Darol Anger sitting in for the whole show.

Hey Edger... I think either facebook, e-mail, and/or he still has his same 905 cell #.

Due to an injury, I can't make the show this Sunday.
I've got 2 tix, 4th row centre for Bela Fleck & The Flecktones for Sunday, July 29 @ the Chan Centre in Vancouver.
pm me if interested.

Oh yeah.... Warren still wouldn't be in the band right now if Dickey was.
-
Not to take away the importance that Dicky was to the band, but I've seen them lots of times now. In the mid-late 90's they began to get a bit boring. With the new line-up (Oteil, Derrek, and Warren), the music seems to have been reborn and they seem to be having a really fun time which is important. Their spirits are up and the band is more fun than it had been in a long time. The only thing I think we're really missing out on is the fact that we'll probably never hear "Blue Sky" again.
According to interviews I've seen with them on their DVD, they're happy that Dicky is gone. He apparentely was a bully, and they'd finally had enough.
-
I just saw them in Vancouver and it was awsome! Not just new material either. I highly recommend it!
-
He does. It's just that "Slave" got his info from the Gov't Mule/ Warren Haynes web page which makes mention of Warren Haynes events. On the ABB page or on the tickets it would probaly say "The Allman Brothers Band".
If I was on that side of the country I'd be all about going, and I'm pretty sure that my mom is going. I'd miss one of the nights though for YMSB @ the Horseshoe.

This Friday (the 29th), Baked Potato is the first band of 3 so start time is EARLY!
Baked Potato starts @ 9:00pm and plays 'till 10:15pm.
Come early!
-
Ya C-Towns.... I think you should make the trip! It's the perfect excuse to come back to the mountains.
BTW - happy belated b-day. (i think)
-
I'd take Bonfire over The Cumberland fest in a second even if I wasn't in two of the bands in Bonfire. This decision is based on line up and environment (Dodge City rules but Bonfire is something completely different). In a one off competition though, I'd be watching Sly & Robbie over Raq or Garage. Don't know much Sarah Harmer and not too interested. I've never seen Corb Lund nor do I own an album, but I'll tell ya, I'd sooner see them finding their way into my disc player than Raq or Garage!
Everyone can have an opinion right?
-
Yeah.... Don't you think Phish are assholes for trying to sell their music?? Fuckin' pricks!
-
Just looked at the online schedual and boy is it ever dissapointing. If I were @ Bonaroo, I think I would have gone to see only three of the bands that they're broadcasting.
-Mago
-Ratdog
-Widespread
-
Sounds good Jeff.... As long as the show's on, I'm there.
-
Yeah I put them on the calendar (except for one, but I'll do it soon). That would be easy to tell if you can scroll though other months eh?
The act is going on some short road trips, but I can't see it making it out east any time soon.
-
Thanks for the info. I guess I'll make the call when I'm in Toronto, unless someone who knows, finds out and wants to post it.
C-Towns.... When's your B-day? Where you gonna be?
And Sara.... I can't see me making it to Hamilton on the Tuesday. Pretty much too little time. It would be nice to see Jeff and some other folks I may know out there, but I can't see it happenning. As well, I would be all about going to you and Todd's thing on the weekend, but that night I'll be in Guelph for Rich (from S.J.) and Heather's wedding. So have fun!

I'm coming to Toronto from the west and wondering if the Sister's are playing at the Orbit Room on the Monday night.
I have real bad luck with this. Every time I come visit, I get all excited to see these guys (I used to see them regularly and now miss it), so I go down to the Orbit Room and find out that for some reason, they're not playing this week.
So is it on or what??
Is there any other mid week events from the 11th 'till the 15th?
-
This is gonna be great! I can't wait to see the new venue. Party, Party!!!
