  1. dude - i wouldn't even suggest anything for the cd but that's the best idea i've heard in a very long time. if it weren't such a taboo i'd even offer to buy them from you...or send the money i'd use to buy the cd's to a charity or someting.

seriously, dude. if you make those CD's - any of them or all of them - i'd love to be able to hear them.

    wow.

  2. Okay - here's the deal with the tND show...it'sw at fanshawe - if anyone wants to go, we'll meet up beforehand - possibly at my place or somewhere else and enjoy friends. Then we'll go to fanshawe and party by going to the line and possibly having to show student ID...i was informed however by a part of the entertainment crew at fanshawe that it's going to be open to everyone from the public...which is a must for such entertainment.

it should be cool...i'll find out this week for sure and if it's bad news i'll post it.,

  3. What's goin on tomorrow night? i'm getting back into town from a joyous yule and thought i'd like to par-tay.

Hope you get this and drop me a line. Should be there by mid afternoon...

    672-6112

I hope the gruvasylum show was killer last week and that something's going on this weekend...

you know how to reach me - don't be a stranger.

  4. as cool as it would be to call it, i think it would be far more magical to let it be a total suprise.

i kinda hope (but toally dread the idea)that when phish gets back together, they'll sound very different. A totally new approach to their jams...i think it could end up being way mroe ambient/atmospheric most of the time...playing with sound and lights and textures a lot mroe than they already do...I think it was Steve Gaw that put it perfectly when he said 'they take you back to when you were 6 years old' - I think it'll be a bit closer to highschool when you were dabbling in acid...or the extacy of lust. I hope they shock us with their sound - and it's hard to shock heads when it comes to music(not lyrics - even then...)

  5. So last night i was in CD warehouse, looking for music to get with xxx-mas cash because london record stores suck ass. I was in the jazz section and found a new blue note band that's not on the website...it was one word and started with a b. it was awesome. i listened to it but thought i'd get it later...sort of acid jazz with a bit of electronica...not quite as laid back and mroe funky than st germain. it was french(not in language...i think it was blue note france) - i feel like a moron coming on not knowing exactly what to tell you...all i know is that it was great and everyone should try to get ahold of it. it was in a glossy cardboard package with a picture of a blonde woman in a red sweater laying on her side on the grass...a close up of her head and shoulders.

and no, i'm not stoned if anyone's wondering.

what i did get was great though...a bob marley dub album(70's dub not the ambient dub remixes from the lasters which i already have on vinyl), the new tND album...gold...garcia/grisman's so what, and the in sounds from way out - instrumental beastie boys.

that album would've went well with those purchases...i think i paid too much for the garcia/grisman cd but don't know what's a fair price...it was worth the 30 bucks with tax but what should i expect to pay for an acoustic disc recording?

  6. i go to fanshawe as stated before, the head of entertainment - the guy that git the show at the school - is in my class. He's an awesome guy names mike t fox and he told me it would be open to everyone...get in touch me to party before and we'll go just in case there are problems...remember your student ID from your school or you likely won't be able to get in.

serious, dude - few problems should arise.

    email me at ro3@hotmail.com

everyone else that wants to be my friend, email me at ro3@hotmail.com - i like people.

  7. Nero/GTB was awesome.

    4 sets of nonstop music.

we forgot the meat prizes, GTB made toast, and i was dancing.

i haven't seen so many heads since frontier town.

i desperately want to tell the east coasters about it but don't have very many email addresses...actually, i just got one.

so! the show was fantastic, the travel companions were all too perfect for the trip, and after the arduous journey to fredericton, we found a band of saints among sinners...the carson downey band. such a good band the first night in a foreign town. I couldn't help but recall tenacious d lyrics all the time...i wonder why. but i digress. After Kyla's struggle to find the best sunglasses, she danced so hard from the groove that they fell apart.

that's alright. it was dark in there.

Everyone was gorgeous, the beer was pretty decent, there were loads of pool tables, and the night was truly magical. the after party was really fun too. it was just a house party that nero almost got kicked out of...those rowdy bastards.

I've got to tip my hat to the east coast crew for making the night so great!

Extra special thanks go out to the angel that let a few of the ottawa crew enjoy a different locale.

vans rock. Next time we go we should get a van.

still tired from the journey. I felt guilty about leaving the east coast behind.

I hope more ends up going on out there. tongue.gif" border="0

  8. EVERYONE SHOULD GET OUT FOR BROWNMAN AND GRUVASYLUM!!!

if they come back, they might bring more incredible talent...tours that start up with such incredible talent generally have more.

everyone has to remind those dudes that london still loves em.

wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow

    everyone.

EVERYONE should go. i don't care if you would rather sit on your ass.

8 bucks is worth it for that calibre of musicians.

the hardest working session trumpeter in canada.

nick ali has played with members of metalwood, scofield, and way more...i forget i was on drugs at the time...

i just remember 'i was just gonna say you should play with scofield and so and so and so and so and so and so...'

he beat me to the punch.

    nice dudes, awesome tunes, wow.

go go go go to the gruvasylum show.

  9. the show was too good

    the car ride was magical

the people were incredibly phenomenal (especially a select few that were heavenly)

    the tunes were awesome

    more people would've been awesome.

you guys should be ashamed for being fiscally prudent. you're young - what's another couple of hundred bucks debt...

  10. hear here!

i'm going out east and have nothing to show off...Hope i can party it up hardcore in the big old NB...i hear fredericton's like a brockville with attitude.

Hope it'll be even more fun than i'd hoped...which won't be hard for the event but it's always nice to get suprises.

  11. Yeah, bouche...even I'm confused...and you've seen the wierd crap theat comes out of my brain when i'm not even tipsy.

    Space Case!

So congratulations to Bouche for having the most christmas Cheer.

I didn't think dinner is ruined was all that bad. Opening for oysterhead(am i right? - likely not but anyhow) takes balls that few really have. who could've opened up and done the show justice? I'm a little verklemmt - talk amongst yourselves...

  12. You know, in the hands of other people, this messageboard would be terrible. loads of insecurity and hatred...mean words and fighting - I'm happy to have met everyone that i've met and to those who i haven't met i'm sure you're the salt of the earth.

Cheers and drink some for me.
