Hahahahaha!!! Brinapple was to embarrassed about that. Apparently he wasn't the gassy culprit, but was being blamed. Poor bastard. I think "Martin" is working right now. We didn't make it home until 1am, so I'm sure he's in rough shape.
I'm wondering if Cory's still asleep on the couch...IN HIS BOWLING SHOES!!! hahahahaha

My sister worked in a half-way house as an addictions counselor (sp?) for about 8 years. I think the success rate is about 1% for users with a criminal record. That may sound dismal, but I think you just have to realize that it may take many, many emotional attempts before this person's behaviour will change. I think it is important to let the person know that you are concerned about them, but that you love and support them unconditionally. It is very hard to be mad at the drug and not the person. Scientific American Mind has some great articles from the past year or so on how drug addictions actually change brain structure by altering our "reward system". Very interesting and worth checking out to help understand physical addiction.
Good luck Blane. I truly hope that she gets her life back on track.

Oh man, I still have aches and pains from my crazy display of bowling skills. However, I have also had many a chuckle since that legendary rocker. Margaret, you are like no other sister I've ever met. Thanks for making the "Golden Wife Beater", letting Lacey and I steal your bed and hosting the best fucking birthday party I've ever been to. Awesome lady, you are simply awesome! Now I just have to convince the boy to shave off that wretched handlebar mustache. Ew!
It was so nice to see a lot of out-of-towners make it to the Tdot for this. I have some great shots of our adventures and if I ever get a connection that's not dial up I'll be sure to post them.
My bowling score: A solid 75!!!
What ever happened to the sink? Shame on you, Stapes!
[color:blue]HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARGE MARGE!!!
P.S. Mir, you're not the only one with sore bum muscles. LOL

I know I'm a little late on this thread, but I do owe big high fives to Marky, Jay, Margaret & Carrie. I guess I could spare a high five for Keller & Slammin' Jack as well.
Try as I might, I will never understand how such beautiful nights turn into such wickedly horrible mornings. The job interview the next day was tough. Whew! I wish I could say "I'll never do that again", but I think we all know better.
So nice to see so many fucking skanks out. And Snelly, what a sweet surprise! Sheesh, I think that was my social event of the bloody year...so far at least.
I hope to see a lot of you out this weekend at the FUNraiser.

Oh no! This is horrible. I'm envisioning Penn, Mr. White & Joe in the warehouse at the end of Reservoir Dogs right now. One of the best scenes ever.
Truly a talented man.

Hey Deb! I too figured that this thread was about "the fuck". LOL *sigh* Talk about one-track mind.
Anyhoo, I just thought I'd let you know that there was a write up on Carlyle's store in Toronto Life this month. It's brief, but very complimentary. Yay!

IN!!!
It's a buddy of mine's birthday tonight so expect team Orillia to be rockin' Lee's. I'm going to try to bring my camera tonight as well. *fingers crossed that there are no problems*
LM & Carrie, I'll give you gals a ring when I get into town. ETA approx. 7pm. A slew of us may be partaking in some sushi across from Lee's or some veggie heaven at Fresh if anyone's interested.
I can't wait for tonight. My plan was to take it easy as "The Rickster" and I have a rather important day tomorrow. BUT...I think I'll truly have to celebrate tonight. Superfreak, I'm so glad you're going to be there. I had a blast dancin' with ya at BSC.
Safe travels everyone.

Welcome Amber. I'm pretty sure is was you that Lacey and I shared a cab with from "that place" to Maverick's. I hope you had an awesome NYE!
Congrats on becoming a skank.
-
Yay to Capricorns. LM, Bethers, Carrie, Slippery...any of you kids up for this? I'm hoping to be there. Someone's gotta make sure that Crissinger gets his paddywacks!
-
Sweet! LOL I didn't even realize. I'll at least make sure that my 2006th post is on the NYE thread.
-
Sorry for the delay folks. Pictures should be up tomorrow.
M, I'll email you a high res of the one I showed ya.
That was one mighty fine NYE. Thanks to BNB, Papa BNB (I had some wicked chats with D&D as well), the Maverick's staff, Dr. Calamity Mouse for the hospitality & eats, Bouche's jacket, THAT MOTHAFUCKIN CRAZY PLACE (it's a vortex man...we lost two broads there for a whole day), the skanks who rode with us and to the funniest partner in crime a gal could have, who I'll admit did most of the driving. *blush* Thanks Lacey!!!
Oh, and Carrie, you just may see the Rickster and Rhonda this weekend. Hehehe.
P.S. ScottieKing, whatever came of that magic mitten? LOL

Happy new year everyone!
2006 hurts.
Pictures to follow. Oh...the sweet, sweet pictures. LOL

Goddammit, I'm missing being around babies. When oh when is Baby Barret gonna get here? C'mon all you other Otown-skanks and git producin', will ya!!!
Careful O-town skanks. Deb likes to put reproductive curses on people.
-
Deb, I checked into the George Brown Cont. Ed. classes and they are $400 PER PERSON!!! Forget that. I think I can get 4 lessons for $199 per couple. I'm going to call and find out tonight. Thanks for the suggestions folks. If it doesn't pan out I'll be calling Birdy.
-
I think you've hit on a new theme for the next schoolhouse rager. LOL Drunken, hillbilly square dance style. Ahhh hahaha. Well, if you weren't in C-town I'd take you up on that offer. For the sake of my liver I can only go there once a year.
-
For those of you in the Tdot with no plans for this evening, I would highly recommend hopping on the holiday inspired festival express. Check out http://www.newmindspace.com/ for the info. Looks like a blast. Too bad I'm gonna miss this one.
We went to the pillow fight in Dundas Square a few weeks ago and it was a hoot. These folks are hilarious.
-
Oh so sad...there's no Fred Astaire studio in Toronto! Thanks for the suggestion though. Perhaps Birdy could teach us.
-
Good thinking BradM. I'm going to look into that. And don't worry d_rawk and MOBE, we'll teach you guys some of our hot new moves (once we get 'em). LOL
Oh, and MOBE, I try to incorporate a hula hoop wherever I can.
-
Oooh, I just noticed that. I think in honour of Jaydawg's special day I shall try to reach 2000 myself.
-
Anyone else get that damn "Habibi" song stuck in their head after the Bloor Cinema show?
-
Okay folks, I need your help. Do any of you in the Toronto area know of a good dance studio or have a friend who teaches dance? In a further effort to look lame and ridiculous, Lacey and I are going to take ballroom dance lessons. He's wanted to forever and since we're not supposed to get each other "things" for Christmas I figured I'd get us some lessons. But shhhhh, it's a surprise.
There are about a bazillion dance studios in Toronto and I have no idea where to begin. Most have images like this one:
Jesus God, man! We're not going to be doing any lifts or splits...we just don't want to trip over eachother. *sigh*
Okay, let the teasing begin....
-
Happy birthday, Scottie! It's been great to meet you this year. I'm even more excited abou NYE now that I know you're going to be there. Hurray! I hope it was a good one, buddy.

Jaydawg: 2000
Confirmed!

Dr. Evil Mouse, I'm so glad that someone dug up that photo. I met Peter Bregg (Chief photog for Maclean's, Trudeau's personal photog & the guy lucky enough to snap that photo) a year or 2 ago and he told me the story of this image. Apparently Trudeau's Centre Block office was stuffed with photographers (the only press allowed in to see the PM meet the John & Yoko) waiting to get a shot of the three. Bregg was kind of restless and went outside to stretch his legs, grab a smoke, whatever. He said that while he was outside the doors a car pulls up and John and Yoko get out (looking rather surprised that absolutely NO ONE is waiting for their arrival). Bregg said hello, chatted for a moment and then held the door for the couple. By the time John & Yoko got up to Trudeau, the place was nuts...just absolutely packed. Bregg was fucked! There was nowhere for him to squish in to get a shot. Trudeau gestured for him to come up to the front anyway. Bregg gets to the front, crouching on his knees so as not to block the other photographers when he hears Trudeau say to John, "This is my photographer, Peter." They all looked down at him and he was able to capture one of the greatest political photographs ever taken. It's one of my favourites.
I guess everyone else just got pictures of the tops of their heads.
I hope that he's finally found some peace.

I hope to see some of you folks out for this. The guitarist is one of my oldest friends, and a mighty talented musician. They don't make it out this way too often, so check 'em out!
Oh, and Lacey's bday celebrations may be kicking off at this show. Yippee!
