great. however, if you dont enjoy it, which is very possible (depending on what/how he's playing), just be honest.... i love to hear how guys like metheny, mclaughlin, corea, etc. pan out (live) after being heard though fresh ears. just be honest and have fun!

well, he has no opener... he's playing with the 4th dimension, which i know NOTHING about....dont know if they are fusion orientated, modern jazz, or old school jazz. the shows generally start around 8pm. i'll confirm what the ticket says when i get home. they never have two sets, and very rarely play longer than 2 hours. john mclaughlin is my favorite jazz guitar player...he's a master..only metheny, that i've seen, can be spoken in the same breath. you'll have a great time....just go in with an open mind....hell, its free...how can you go wrong, lol.

i swear they had that during my first phish show there.... lanterns and dragons....everywhere.... and that was before we endulged so....maybe i imagined it though.... anyone else remember?

Yep, thats right. I'm 99% sure I wont be able to make it to Massey Hall as i'm heading up north for the Long Weekend. The show is on the Friday Night, October 5th. I'm offering this up now, so that I know the ticket wont go to waste. Its a single ticket. 2nd row balcony. Again, its Free. However, like anything, it has its fine print. #1) you HAVE to go to the show....no saying, ya i'll take it, then not go..... #2) you HAVE to give a small report of the show...doesn't have to be huge, just your thoughts. #3) Bonus points if you have NEVER seen him before.... Again, its not 100%. But i'm 99% sure i wont be able to attend. I've seen him three times before, all were amazing. The offer i've received for the weekend cannot be turned down....fishing with my dad and best friend trumps a single night to see John McLaughlin....as crazy as that sounds.

i have 6th row in the gallary for the last night....the gallary isn't bad....the sound is quite good. you DONT want to know what i paid for it off the internet. but you only live once, and my hero is getting on in age.

Ad, the sightlines in the 'back' of the gallary aren't good, but unless it says obstructed view, you'll be ok....but squinting.... if you only have a single, take some cash to the show, and upgrade.

phorbsie, i haven't sat in the 5th row, but i'm sure it'll be great as well.

phishtaper, i'm 6'. i stand by what i said.

and yes, the gallary, where i'll be sitting on night three, are hard, wooden seats....but the sound is generally warm sounding up there.

like i said in another thread, the first two or three rows of the balcony at massey hall are amazing seats.... when given the choice, unless its a stand up show, thats where ya want to be!

His hours are even better... Its because of the Union. But like said above, who would want to work on the face of a reactor. if it wasn't for the nuclear power union, he wouldn't be there.... The opposite is what has happened in Hamilton. Unions are ONE of the major factors that killed our workforce. But not all Unions are junk....Nuclear Power Union is one of the best!

woohoo, just scored a single to thursday nights show off craigslist. this is gonna be the run to remember!!!

stone, both nights of greendale were at the ACC, and he sold out both nights....which is pretty amazing... however, now he has graced us with three nights at massey hall..... so i guess we get the best of both worlds....however, hearing greendale in a small intimate setting would have beeng grrrreat!!!

i must be in a minority here, but for a large arena, i've never minded ACC's sound..... in many cases, such as pearl jam and the greendale shows, i thought the sound was great....bowie too.

damn fucking meeting...i missed the announce! ahhh well.

iv'e listened to the ordinary people track a bunch of times.... i love it. more than love it. its amazing. the horn lines remind me of trey band's, but with great lyrics and singing. its going to be VERY VERY powerful live!

i wonder if its cause i'm at work, and we have superfast connections here.... jay, i tried again for a single for ya, and i'm getting nothing... i wouldn't have taken the first ticket offered for anyone, as the warning was "obstructed view, poor sound" why would anyone sit there?

i even pulled a single before the one i choose, but it was obstructed view, with poor sound (it even said that), so i retried, and got the third row floor.... i really think singles is the way to go to get good tix.
