  1. that makes sense... i guess
  2. those were my exact initial thoughts after reading this: Lets never fight again. Drunken-crack-smoking-naked-masturbating-joy ride sound good? ...however...
  3. booche is at home right now, wailing on his accordian trying to hammer something out apparently though everything he's written ends up sounding like, "Gens du Pays"
  4. I hope you're sitting beside jaimoe then, MOBE Maurice Edu to Gers eh? We'll see if he can withstand the spotlight...
  5. I'll field this one, guys If there're only jersey numbers it's due to them not getting the licence to associate the names (i.e. they're too cheap/lazy) As for your second point, there simply aren't any other all-time all-star teams that could match up with the Habs, so why would they bother? They'd have to do an all-time all-star team for every other team in the league put together and they'd still be at a distinct disadvantage
  6. Now I don't know what to think in terms of whether or not the game will be on, live. We've got xpressvu and do get the sportsnet west channels but are they "digital"? I don't know. The website schedule indicates that it'll be on, but I guess I'll have to wait and see for sure. Also from the sportsnet website: Sportsnet.ca will stream the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifier between Canada and Jamaica from the National Soccer Stadium in Toronto, ON. The online stream will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can also be seen live for digital subscribers in the Sportsnet West and Pacific regions. Viewers in Sportsnet East and Ontario can watch it on tape delay following the Blue Jays game.
  7. Mikaël Silvestre, the long-serving Manchester United defender, is on the verge of foregoing a testimonial season at Old Trafford to become the club's first player to be sold to Arsenal for 34 years. Arsène Wenger instigated the move yesterday after learning that the former France international had been holding talks with Manchester City and Sunderland. Silvestre had provisionally agreed a move to City before contacting the club yesterday to apologise and say he could not resist the opportunity to work for Wenger, to live in London and be involved in the Champions League. Paris St Germain had also offered the 31-year-old a contract but Silvestre informed Wenger last night that Arsenal were his first choice and, if everything goes according to plan, the deal will be concluded in time for him to make his debut at Fulham on Saturday. The move is expected to cost Arsenal in the region of £750,000 and will represent one of the biggest transfer shocks of the summer given United's usual reluctance to do business with any of their major rivals and the fact Ferguson has never allowed a player of his to defect to Wenger's side. Brian Kidd was the last United player to go in the same direction, in 1974, and Silvestre would have been entitled to a testimonial had he stayed at Old Trafford one more season. Another surprise for Arsenal's fans is that Wenger does not regard the former Internazionale defender merely as a squad player, or as a back-up for Gaël Clichy at left-back, but as a first-choice centre-half alongside William Gallas, primarily as a replacement for Philippe Senderos. City had been the first club to approach Silvestre and their failure to pull it off represents a major disappointment for Mark Hughes after his difficult start to life as Sven-Goran Eriksson's successor. City's problems were compounded yesterday when it emerged they were the subject of a possible Fifa inquiry into claims that they had failed to pay some of the money they allegedly owe in the £8m signing of the Brazilian international midfielder Elano Blumer from Shakhtar Donetsk.
  8. Attiba got robbed in broad daylight in front of thousands of onlookers. actually I think there might be a rant earlier in this thread And if only that were the only incident...
  9. I think I swore that day never to watch these games again
  10. and such shitty biased reffing. Also Mexico's in our group, that's a colossal hurdle. In theory home field advantage will help tomorrow but those reggae boys will be in tough and there's always a contingent of "Jamaican-Canadians" spoiling the numbers a bit. exam not til next wednesday now so i'm in the clear to watch this... yee haw

  15. while I don't expect a 'review', Dave, I do hope you'll be posting your thoughts on the game afterward- atmosphere, standout moments during the play, etc; Also a lot of these Caribbean countries throw bags of urine at the Canadian players when we play them away, perhaps you could exact some Carlsberg fuelled revenge to that end? Thank you
