  1. this is just a thought, certainly not a full fledged theory...but i wonder if through side stepping ever closer into the scope of the popular music format they've achieved more popular success. I mean, look at the marked difference between their old and new sound or by playing these similar setlists, and then look at this mmj tour they've scored, is it coincidence or cause? i hope we don't turn into the bitter resentful original fans that curse their stadium tours and watered down singles.

i've downloaded shows and looked at setlists and i'd have to agree with freeker. I don't think that the brothers move to montreal had much influence on this repetitious trend as it's been going on FAR longer than the boys have been seperated. So while i'm certainly not GLAD i haven't made it to a show in 2 years, i'm glad that at least i don't have to feel like i'm missing out on a lot of amazing shows.

  2. are we really wondering who OD'd if anyone actually did? Kuroda passes out at a vida blue show, misses some phish shows for rehab....weeks later phish is done...i'd bet it was kuroda that OD'd which struck fear into the hearts of his party buddies and they bailed.

  3. Get your read on!

I thought I'd let you guys know the library is having it's annual book sale at the downtown location. It's a great chance to pick up some good reads! The sale is on daily until saturday. They put new stuff out every hour so don't NOT go on friday or saturday thinking nothing will be left. Prices are 0.25 - 5.00 I got 18 fiction and non-fiction books (most of them hardcovers) for $19!

  4. if you really want to impress in buffalo go to como's. it's italian food, not wings, but it's like you stepped into a shooting location for the dogfather, it's gaudy and so much fun. the stuffed clams are great. it's not too expensive, you get those huge amerian-italian portions. it's like bein on mulberry street.

oh, and for wings....maybe try honey's. they're pretty good.

  5. on the road is great....a confederacy of dunces...meh, but i think it won a pulitzer, you be the judge....

i'd recommend killing yourself to live by chuck klosterman....chuck's a music journalist and he goes on the road to research and write this article turned novel about music and death and how the two are intertwined. along stu dog's theme, i'd recommend mr. nice by howard marks. it's an autobigraphy by the biggest guy in hashish in the 70's/80's...the rise and fall of his hashish empire.
