I love JB and Panic--that singing appeals to me--the from-the-gut-and-groin-yet-entirely-in-tune-stuff-goddamn that's my soul-singing.

In fact, I equate JB with the best singers I enjoy: Brent Mydland & Warren Haynes.

So, those are the singers I love...and you go ahead and love yours.

There was some association on the news the other day (I'm not sure what sonogram technicians are called) decrying his purchase and his intention to perform his own sonograms--because it can be dangerous.

I just don't enjoy the shows on disc--and that is an "each their own" thing. The singing bugs me on these shows. *shrug*

C'mon--she's a TERRIFIC actress!

She studied at the little known, but highly prestigious, "Oral Compass School of Acting".

There, they teach an extremely effective acting technique--difficult to master, but superb to witness once conquered: Channeling all emotion and acting into one side of your mouth.

She's a genius in this milieu.

Like I said, the times I've seen them I've thoroughly enjoyed them--I'm not a fan of the singing, which is why I don't like listening to the shows, but at an outdoor festival, it's not nearly as distracting.

Camp Bisco '02 was an insanely fun time--sketchiest festival I've ever been to, but that only added to the adventure!

For me it's "These songs should be more up your alley." Any chance we have a mutual friend?

I've got one of those friends too. tDB CDs for every birthday, Xmas, etc. You think they'd give up after a while, but no...

And it always comes with a note, "You're going to LOVE *this* show!!"

A friend of mine, possibly THE biggest Disco Biscuits fan in North America, tried to inculcate in me a similar love of the band by repeatedly sending me show upon show.

I gave it a shot--and while I have enjoyed them in concert on more than once occasion, I really can't see myself listening to these shows again and it seems a shame to chuck 'em out if there's a skank who might enjoy them.

Unrelated to hot sauce, I think it's funny that "Stone Faced Dolly's" is mentioned in this thread.

I just read an article about Jack Layton that said (and I'm paraphrasing here), "Jack Layton is trying to dispel the Smilin' Jack image he was known for in the last election--he kicked off his campaign at the Ottawa eatery Stone Faced Dolly's"...

Actually, there's a restaurant in Toronto on College that makes its own that I love, too..Utopia...mmmm.
