  1. Bodhisattva Vow -

As I Develop The Awakening Mind I Praise The Buddha As They Shine

I Bow Before You As I Travel My Path To Join Your Ranks,

I Make My Full Time Task

For The Sake Of All Beings I Seek

The Enlighted Mind That I Know I'll Reap

Respect To Shantideva And All The Others

Who Brought Down The Darma For Sisters And Brothers

I Give Thanks For This World As A Place To Learn

And For This Human Body That I'm Glad To Have Earned

And My Deepest Thanks To All Sentient Beings

For Without Them There Would Be No Place To Learn What I'm Seeing

There's Nothing Here That's Not Been Said Before

But I Put It Down Now So I'll Be Sure

To Solidify My Own Views And I'll Be Glad If It Helps

    Anyone Else Out Too

If Others Disrespect Me Or Give Me Flack

I'll Stop And Think Before I React =

Knowing That They're Going Through Insecure Stages

I'll Take The Opportunity To Exercise Patience

I'll See It As A Chance To Help The Other Person

Nip It In The Bud Before It Can Worsen

A Change For Me To Be Strong And Sure

As I Think On The Buddhas Who Have Come Before

As I Praise And Respect The Good They've Done

Knowing Only Love Can Conquer In Every Situation

We Need Other People In Order To Create

The Circumstances For The Learning That We're Here To Generate

Situations That Bring Up Our Deepest Fears

So We Can Work To Release Them Until They're Cleared

    Therefore, It Only Makes Sense

To Thank Our Enemies Despite Their Intent

The Bodhisattva Path Is One Of Power And Strength

A Strength From Within To Go The Length

Seeing Others Are As Important As Myself

I Strive For A Happiness Of Mental Wealth

With The Interconnectedness That We Share As One

Every Action That We Take Affects Everyone

So In Deciding For What A Situation Calls

There Is A Path For The Good For All

I Try To Make My Every Action For That Highest Good

With The Altruistic Wish To Achive Buddhahood

So I Pledge Here Before Everyone Who's Listening

To Try To Make My Every Action For The Good Of All Beings

For The Rest Of My Lifetimes And Even Beyond

I Vow To Do My Best To Do No Harm

And In Times Of Doubt I Can Think On The Dharma

And The Enlightened Ones Who've Graduated Samsara

  2. I don't know why the Broncos would get rid of him when they finally have a teacher on their squad and when they could run some of the most disgusting wildcats ever on every other down just to tire the other team out. Imagine dealing with Tebow for three quaters and then having to stop Manning. Or Manning at the start, Tebow in the middle, Manning to bring it all home. I don't see why these guys can't work together? Why does Tebow have to start for the next three years to start after that? What's wrong with having two very good and very different QBs?

For all of that, I don't know why Irsay would let Manning go when he could have a vet like him teach whoever he lands in the draft for a season or two? It didn't hurt Flynn or Rogers to play behind someone really really good for awhile, did it?

  3. It can and will if it is found that the bill is unconstitutional... that said, we need a change of government for that to happen, and with the shoot-yourself-in-the-face attitude of Canadian voters that seems like a distant future. Even with elections fraud all but tied to the Party I doubt they'd lose an election any time soon.

  4. All those idiots who complain about having to be "politically correct" all the time to avoid getting into trouble are telling us openly that this hasn't changed as much as we want to believe, otherwise they wouldn't feel so oppressed by not being allowed to express their racism, imo.

Lin rules because he's a great baller, not because he's Asian.

  5. Now I'm sure that there's a thread somewhere about the best zombie movies and shows, but I'm too lazy to search. Has anyone been watching The Walking Dead? I'm really enjoying it and Les (who never watches horror movies, ever) has been watching it too and she loves it. Slow for sure, but are there any other zombie movies out there that make such a big deal out of character development? I'm over the hack and slash, it's lame and unimaginative, but this stuff is fun, and it gets in ya. I can't stop planning for the zombie apocalypse. I told her to get a "go" bag ready.

  6. I think it's funny that we would wish peace upon the soul of a man who insisted that he had no soul. That said, I didn't agree with him on much, but I did enjoy that he got people talking about things that actually have some critical import in regards to our self perceptions and our relationships to the 'natural' world, and to one another. So, since I believe in soul, I will still wish that his might find some peace.

  7. So enjoyable! I find it sad that from the outside, Canada doesn't look like much of a team with a score like 81-16 against NZ, but to have scored two tries against them is absolutely incredible and should become a pride point for any Canadian side in the future... we scored on the best defense in the game, and more times than I'm guessing some far higher rated sides might. Too bad it seems likely to fade away again for another four years. We could really get somewhere. 11th or 12th in the world ain't bad at all.

    Enjoy the finals! :)
