CyberHippie
So I picked this up on the weekend: I mean, I love Dylan, and I'm really getting into reggae, this sounds just crazy enough to be cool. Man was I wrong... Maybe I just need to give it another listen. But seems to me like most of the artists are 'pop' reggae artists. This album was a let down. Guess I should have read the review first, it sums up my feelings pretty precisely. The 2nd disc with the dub remixes is the best part. And yes Toots version of Maggies Farm is pretty cool. AdamH
I'm not a huge dub fan really. I don't smoke enough dope to make it enjoyable. But on the other side I can't speak more highly of Gregory Isaacs. I saw him at the Bamboo probably...5 years ago? Crazy time, crazy crowd too. I miss that Queen St. location immensely. Jaimoe
No offence intended J, but Joe is not a prophet. He's a guitarist. Offense taken. Joe was the most important voice for the punk generation and hee was one of the great songwriters of the 70's. Mick Jones is " a guitarist ".
