well, friendly folks, here is something new

there is something I am going to share with you

the song I am currently listening to--

begins with lyric-- "walk me out in the morning dew"

to go along with Guigsy's thread

on my way into CTMF I listened to the dead

it twas a beautiful, enchanting night

and this song was blarring all right

"I guess it doesn't matter annnnyyywwwwaayyy"

sometimes I think life really seems that way

however, that weekend of Canada Day

I spent most of my time in some imaginary land far away

its funny to think back as I write my lesson plan

that I realized that being a teacher was more than--

acquiring some piece of paper that explains that to you

instead I realized it meant students are number one and I am number two. :: ::

Nice! nice! you like-a-tha spice

I like-a-tha juice

but it all tastes nice

it's true - there's abuse

but mr. miller writes readable filler

that puts naysayers in a noose

i must not rush

cause you've made me blush

and it energizes me like the juice

lift it up, drop it down

i rarely drink like a lush

but give me enough, get me tanked

and you might just see me in a gown.

well, this is what I have to say

and that is Ian, happy birthday

in the short time we have been friends

I've started to recognize a few auspicious trends

on the board, you go by the name Thognor

and it K-dub, they refer to you as the Giver Governor

well, maybe it is time for another election

cus, I am missing the Thognor/Giver connection

at CTMF---in July you were asleep while I was awake

and at my house in August, you said: "no mas--its all I can take"

I hope this friday, you can giver all night

as I know if you read this you might do it in spite

but all kidding aside, I look forward to the Lanc

and make sure you leave your panties at home you fu©king skank!!! :: ::

it's dark upstairs

don't have the flares

that i find so hard to handle

but look! this glimpse i took!

I just found my candles!

i'll strike the match

and light the wicks,

just found my rhyme for limmericks!

so bokonon i think it's time

for someone else to top my rhyme

I think you'll find

(if you're so inclined )

that this thread can be quite trying;

and if we bind our minds together

the axe we grind'll be sharp forever

and if we clear our mind of clutter

and treat ourselves to some popcorn with butter

we might just even like that cloudy weather

and feel like we are flying.

This thread appears to have no end.

As it wanes and slows there is merely a bend

In the story and theme

That's spontaneously been

Made by an unrelated team.

To what can compare a rhyme out of thin air?

I sit and I think and I grovel

For a metaphor that

Might actually be apt.

Hmmm, the Dworkinian chain-novel?

i have not heard of that

does it involve a bat?

or the eating of cat?

how about the sun or moon?

maybe a mystical rune?

the singing of a tune?

a crazy gray haired loon?

no, i cannot say i know this thing

there is no bell that it does ring

you must expand upon this book

or give it here for a look

Ronald Dworkin's chain-novel is not truly a book,

Rather, a theory, and I suggest that you look

At his text "Law's Empire" on jurisprudence

And you can see if it does not convince

You that this chain-novel compares to this thread

As applied to the law written by those now long dead.

Although long since dead, their words still live on,

And those who are judges must opine upon

What the drafter had meant in that age long ago

When drafting the statute, but how can we know?

(that is unbelievable)

there is a Dead show from Nineteen Ninety three.

the date is september 16 in New York City

maybe you have heard this incredible show?

if not it is definitely one you should get to know

the moment that explifies the true nature of the night

is the last song before the encore for it is out of sight

the Grateful dead leave the stage with the song "Not Fade Away"

and the crowd sings the chorus until they return to play

Now that might not seem like a big deal to you

but, you have to hear it and then think it through

the significance behind those words are a metaphor

for exactly what the Grateful Dead stand for

"You know our love will not fade away"

and think, who is still touring each year to this day?

and that thought is two-fold, for the fans still come out

because love of music is what being a Dead-Head is all about

it is the community that set the example for others to follow

those words they sing are reinforced--they are not "hollow"

this particular show defines what the scene is about

and it represents the love the community shares without doubt

and as I finish this off, remember to find it and listen

if you don't you will never know what you're missin

remember, all the bands we love in this scene

from Nero to Phish, or the the Slip to Ween

are a reflection of the group that are the "metaphoric zen"

for these bands are classified as eggs, that were laid by the "Hen"

I agree with the poster with the name Number 2.

We all must give credit where credit is due.

If not for the Dead and the Allmans and Feat,

(And of course the man who wrote Uncle Meat)

There would be no scene of which to speak.

There would be no place for the average phreak

To phreak out with abandon; to trip and to sin

Don't forget "what a long strange trip it's been".
