Sanctuarian's Guide to the Grateful Dead

My mind wont stop fluttering as to what I should put up. Basically, its been concluded that ya'll should grab what is on here and we begin anew in a couple of weeks.

Talk about which shows you preferred. This would be a swell dance concert in words. POG came up with a similar idea recently, and I think this is where we should begin. The archive is a wonderful resource, and there are tons of people that love the Dead on this board.

Thanks guys, this is a great list thus far. I cant wait to hear Guig's and Greg's picks. Completely unknown to me. As for what is already up there, Jon is always the man. I dont know how you do it, but you are always a step ahead of me dude. You blow my mind away with your picks.

Didnt MarcO say he likes his midi?

Check out that 2nd set opening Dark Star from 10-16-89.

Check out that 2nd set opening Dark Star from 10-16-89.

Deb and Snail and I had our brains melted at that one. Yowza. I still see the floor full of dancing green oreos. Nice copy of it on the archive, though on my old cassette you can hear someone in the audience yelling out "Happy birthday, Bobby!!" a second or two before the Dark Star figure begins - and then the crowd losing it when they do go into Dark Star.

Here's a few excellent shows that I could recommend to anyone, that rarely generate much discussion.

09-02-80 Rochester, NY

Funny, this show is not on archive.org, despite not being an official release. Anyway, this show will make you ejaculate. Best. Sugaree. Ever.

07-29-82 Red Rocks

This show is like a filthy smelly nitrous orgy at the back field of Come Together. You'll blow yer load at the jam that comes out of "Miracle" of all things. Wear Depends.

04-21-84 Philadelphia

This show will make the front of your pants explode in a screaming symphony of projectile bodily fluids. Check out Bobby's amazing guitar work during "Playin" and just let it flow....... amazing second set, great show all around.

12-30-90 Oakland

On your knees!! NOW!!! Kiss the feet of this maginificient second set, with it's glorious "Half Step" spanking your hairy hippie ass. Feel the heat and the pain and pleasure of yet another blast of "Playin In The Band". Bad hippie, you should be punished!

08-25-93 Mountain View, CA

"Get out of the bathroom - what the hell are you doing in there?!?" - dig this show, with it's spacy "Scarlet > Fire" and lenghty jam out of "Terrapin" with Jerry demonstrating the weirder end of his effects set up. Turn the tap on HOT and get steamy - it is time to get freaky and we all know how good it is to get fucking freaky OH YEAH BABY THAT'S THE STUFF RIGHT THERE OOONNHHHHHHH!!

Two from the same era, a couple of my favourites! I really dig the 69-72 stuff. This is one my favourite 72 shows here (complete 100 yr hall show)
