timouse Posted August 8, 2005 Report Share Posted August 8, 2005 hey basher, if it's any comfort, culex spp. mosquitoes that commonly carry west nile are way more prevalent in urban areas, so your odds are better than you think. and even if you do wind up with it, your odds of getting anything more than a bit of a fever and a day in bed are pretty slim.hope that helps... It's only an issue in kids and old people.yes. we went to a talk given by our local conservation authority when The Scare first started. most of the conservation officers figured that they had had it, and the worst one had a day off home in bed. kids, old folks and people with already hammered immune systems are the only ones who go down with anything worse than a fever & a headache.
