bradm Posted January 20, 2006 Report Share Posted January 20, 2006 I actually turned off display of avatars in posts a long time (months, maybe a year or two) ago, because I found that, over a dial-up connection (and through a proxy/firewall), the avatars that were retrieved as images from other web servers would sometimes hang topics for minutes and minutes. Without displaying them, topics displayed just fine, and even now that I'm in DSL, I'm used to it. Whenever I want to see a user's avatar, I can always click on the user's name to go to his/her/its profile.Aloha,Brad Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am a manager and can surf at my discression, but not safe for work images can certainly cause issues. Whatever, I have turned avatars off.
