I know that industry awards were never meant to reflect musical taste or intelligence, and I know that in the big scheme of things, it really doesn't matter, but above are the JUNO nominations for Album of the Year Think about what's missing! BSS maybe? Metric? New Pornographers? Or how about Prairie Wind by Mr. Young. Sure it shows up in adult alternative or some silly category, but we're talking Album of the Year and it's not there and this is what we get it's a fuckin' embarrassment. And then we bring in a band from England to headline the show. Now there's a nice slap in the face. I don't give a shit who they are. I agree with Jim Cuddy when he was asked if Coldplay should be there. He responded, "Sure they should, but they should be sitting in the audience." Right on. Canada should be honoured that Coldplay think Canada's music scene is so world-class that we could draw a huge act like Coldplay to play at our awards ceremony!
