Jaimoe
Man, I freaking love Tool. For a very long time they were the only metal band that mattered. The single clocks in at a measley 7:09. A Perfect Circle should just go away. Here it is: Vicarious Edited April 14, 2006 by Guest
bokonon
Thanks! Metal is a recent discovery for me, I was so prejudiced for so long. Who else do you recommend?

Jaimoe
I'm not the best metal lover on this board. One band that kicks ass is The Mars Volta. If you want some really heavy hard-core punk, the disbanded Swedish band The Refused and their seminal "The Shape Of Punk To Come" is as good as it gets. Hard-core teters on metal. Jaimoe
Give Clutch, early Monster Magnet and Supersuckers a try. Fu Manchu does not suck either.
Jaimoe
Here's a pretty fun and rocking Supersuckers video. Look on the left column:http://www.supersuckers.com/downloads.php# Edited April 14, 2006 by Guest
bokonon
It was Metallica's S and M that got me in to the genre. I'm so addicted to that album.
Tenenbaum
throw in Metallica's "Garage Days Re-Revisited" and you're set.if you're looking for some twisted metal in the vein of Zappa, check out Mr Bungle's self-titled debut on Warner.then again, if you're into Metallica's S&M, then I guess Nickleback or Puddle of Mud are up your alley. Jaimoe
In all honesty, I think this is one of the coolest videos ever and one of the heaviest and best riffs in rock. Turn this sucker up and enjoy The Refused's New Noise. Pop punkers and fans of loser wimp bands like Sum 41 and Blink 182 better run for cover:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YI79tWr-Q9Y&eurl= Edited April 15, 2006 by Guest
DevO
Although they aren't quite as heavy as Sepultura, you should check out Kitchener's finest: HELIX. Since about 1979 these men have been rocking the planet. Their popularity peaked in the mid-late 80's, and the death of lead guitarist Paul Hackman in a car accident while the band was touring across BC sort of marked the beginning of the end. (though they still continue to play). One of the best things about living in Korea: Its the ONLY place I've been where every bar with a record collection has and will enthusiastically play my unending requests for HELIX! Its like heaven. Check out the albums "Long Way To Heaven", or "Wild In The Streets" or "Walkin' The Razors Edge". Or just "Over 60 Minutes With..." for a general overview.THIS JUST IN: Helix on tour with Alice Cooper.May 03, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Halifax, Nova ScotiaMay 04, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour St. John, New BrunswickMay 06, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Ottawa, OntarioMay 07, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Hamilton, OntarioMay 09, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Kitchener, OntarioMay 10, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Oshawa, OntarioMay 11, 2006 Alice Cooper Tour Molson Centre Barrie, OntarioMay 14, 2006 Listowel High School 125th Anniversary Listowel, OntarioJune 17, 2006 Fort Williams Historical Park - Classic Rock Weekend Thunder Bay, OntarioJuly 22, 2006 venue to be announced London, Ontario
