Greg J (Funky Catus Records San Francisco)

www.kidbippy.com

Greg J Better known as Kid Bippy for his numerous mixes is a fantastic and talented dj. Owner of Funky Cactus records he has been funkin up the west coast for years. This is his first appearance in Toronto and if his mixes are any indication you can expect some serious b-boy funk from this seasoned veteran of the breakbeat world!

THE DUKES

Always intense in the mix, often with all four hands tweaking the mixer, DJs Adam Duke & KF ride a line of quirkiness through techno, electro, rock, house and breaks unlike any other musician out there. While remaining notorious for their energetic stage persona's and wild musical tastes, they've captivated crowds in every environment with their deep, funky grooves and feverishly intense moments of pure insanity.

The Dukes' passion for music and performing has earned them both incredibly positive hype, and the kind of loyal following that few achieve. They've headlined sets at every one of Toronto's major clubs, held residencies at both Toronto's legendary Boa-Redux nightclub and System Sound Bar, were voted Toronto's 'Best Upcoming DJ' in the annual city-wide voters poll (2001), and have played alongside numerous international acts like Miss Kitten, Joey Beltram, Ellen Allien, Ken Ishii, Afrika Bambaata, Woody McBride, Lorin

Bassnecter, Speedy J, Christian Smith, John Selway, Aril Brikha, Kevin Saunderson and Matthew Herbert. As their reputation has spread, they've been called on to entertain audiences across North America, with more international dates on the horizon. Currently working in the studio, The Dukes are whipping up some serious melon twisting with their own unique material and remixes.

THE PHAT CONDUCTOR

www.thephatconductor.com

The Phat Conductor is one of Toronto's leading breakbeat exports, wreaking havok on turntables, laptops and projectors in North America, the UK and Europe. Old School, Nu Skool, Home School... it doesn't matter. With an ear for the future and an eye on the dancefloor the man behind Ice-9 brings you lush, organic electronics, funky bass grooves and a live performance to tell your grandkids about.

Make it Funky Super Secret Band

Because of an upcoming showcase at the NXNE Festival, The Make ItFunky Super Secret band cannot be named until the day of the show, however they've been one of Canada's top club draws from Vancouver to Halifax for the past 5 years. They are currently booked as one of the headliners at the World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF), will be dropping their 4th album this summer and touring heavily across Canada and into the United States. Deep bass, solid breakbeats, slinky keyboards and through the roof guitars are guaranteed with this special funk performance.

ADAM ADDISON (of THE BEAT FREKERS- FUNKY CACTUS)

www.beatfreakers.com

Under the moniker of "The Beat Freakers," Adam Addison and Greg Carlson seek to redefine the climate of House and Breaks in North America. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, these two Chicago natives work tirelessly to fuse their two main musical influences into an innovative new form.

As DJ's, "The Beat Freakers" have a resume that highlights their ability to construct diverse live performances. By providing support to artists such as Rabbit in the Moon, The Drummatic Twins, The Freestylers, Donald Glaude, Mixmaster Mike, Josh "The Funky 1," Jesse Saunders, Ed Rush and Optical, and DJ Craze, "The Beat Freakers" have solidified their rank within the top tier of the International electronic music community. Their high-energy style establishes an immediate rapport with any audience, and their desire to recreate a studio session in real time sets them apart from the current crop of lackluster performers. Using samples, locked grooves, and acapellas in conjuction with turntable trickery and furious scratch sessions, "The Beat Freakers" craft live sets that are eclipsed only by their original productions.

DAVE DUB

Dave Dub is probably the most underrated Breaks DJ in Toronto. After putting out the first Canadian Breaks record ever back in the mid nineties Dave went on to have many releases on various labels, including his own imprint Dubble Sided Vinyl (DSV). With two movie scores under his belt and releases set to drop on Funky Cactus and Lab-Rok Dave's future is looking bright indeed. Dave will be rocking his famous 'Tiger Style' in the back room at Make it Funky so keep an ear out, the man can do no wrong.
