StoneMtn
Where the hell were you on June 16, and why have I heard not a word breathed about this from you people? Pure irresponsibility; in my view.
Tungsten Gruvsten
oh sorry! Show was great, killer band he's assembled....very tight. Biggest dissapointment was no Napoleon Murphy Brock.....They started first with a screeening of some of the Roxy and Elsewhere unreleased video footage, some very cool stuff there.Dweezil doesn't really have much of a stage presence and thank god he chose not to sing as well...Highlights:-Inca Roads (oh my god it was perfect)-Don't Eat the Yellow Snow>Nanook Rubs it>Father O'blivion-Reggae-fied King KongI think they played Greggary Peccary or Tumershi Du'ween or Dupree's Paradise....one of the three, can't remember.Terry Bozzio did a few Sheik Yerbouti numbers(Tryin' to grow a chin and I'm So Cute) AND played Black Page...which the band joined in to round out #2.Steve Vai had a fantastically small role(I was so afraid they were going to play Stevie's Spanking or other crap like that) and the whole thing seemed short but clocked in around the 2 hour mark(not including the movie)
Dr_Evil_Mouse
Holy crap. Thanks for that, TG! I can only imagine. What would Inca Roads sound like live? I'll wager, fairly safely, there was no recording allowed whatsoever.
StoneMtn
Beautiful. I'm relieved that at least one of you was responsible enough to attend. Thanks for the review TG. I was willing to bet you'd have been there.
Tungsten Gruvsten
Here's the complete setlist:StinkFootInca RoadsDon’t Eat The Yellow SnowSt. Alphonzo’s Pancake BreakfastI’m So Cute (TB)Pound For Brown (TB)Tryin’ To Grow A Chin (TB)Punky’s Whips (TB)Black Page No. 1 (TB)Black Page No. 2 (TB. Steve Vai)Peaches En RegaliaVillage Of The SunMontana (Steve Vai)Trouble Every Day (TB, Steve Vai) ...shit almost forgot that Peaches. Sweet god it was great. Close as i'll ever get, and even though Project Object at the Comfort Zone was great, this was a concert proper in a big theatre.... The drummer (I think it's the 'Z' band drummer - Joe Travers) sang some of Frank's leads and played incredibly the whole show...
Jaimoe
I love Napolean Murphy Brock, but Ian Underwood would have kicked ass more than any other.
