slavetothegroove
In honor of it being so bloody hot these past two days, I figured I'd start a thread dedicated to your favorite foods to cool down with. Meals, deserts, drinks, easy oven-less suggestions too, or places to eat out.....whatever. Share em all.
bradm
For me, a good Belgian wheat/wit style beer (e.g., Blanch de Chambly, or Hoegaarden) does the trick.Aloha,Brad
M.O.B.E
Homemade fruit sorbet. For afternoon snacks or desserts or load it into a huge glass and add lotsa booze and you have an awesome summer drunk. All you have to do is add 2-3 cups of chopped fruit your choice into a blender, add one cup of simple syrup** and blend. Freeze it in a flat aluminium baking pan and freeze it until its softly set, then you score it up with a fork. Its takes about 2 hours. I'll post a proper recipe for sorbet in the new recipe forum. Esau.
I really don't enjoy drinks that require mixing, unless its mixed with another alcohol, so for me its beer and whiskey. For eats, fresh caught fish on the bbq or campfire works just fine for me. Ms.Huxtable
I've been drinking way more beer than usual because of the heat. I love melons and berries as snacks in the summer and don't tell the lady who has to take out my wedding dress... ice cream. Lots of ice cream.
