wouldn't their calculations mean 17 kilograms which is around 37 pounds, generate around $37,000 on the street. Even if these figures are wrong to begin with I can't see how they came up with 1.1 mil. Even it was $2,400 a pound that's only 88,800 and at $10 grams all the way up it's still only around 165,000. I guess it's propaganda

Oh yeah totally propaganda. And the math never adds up.

But, check out any bust in Canada over the years, Canadian police have almost always said each plant is worth $1000 even if its just a clone. That may not be what someone ends up being actually charged with in the end, but until they reach court thats the numbers they love to boast about it seems.

I assume by saying the grow-op is worth 1.1 million is more intimidating to the general public or people who just don't know. Sorta like how all growers are tied to bikers and/or organized crime. It's scray when its bigger I guess.

well, shouldnt that 2002 Ford Escort be worth $120,500 in black market parts?

the criminal valuation of pot plants, seedlings, seeds, etc has always been a great source of amusement for me. it makes no sense at all. but hey, if you can buy a pound for $1000, i say go for it.

fwiw, i thintk they just use $1000 because its easier to add and multiply ;)

I thought his blitz smoking on the front steps of all the police stations across Canada was a good move. Perhaps that's just me.

"Why is that Todd? Because of a few people's posts on one messageboard?"

Actually, that post was made because I was pissed off and at work without enough time to adequately express my thoughts.

i have a feeling that in the years to come, Marc Emory will be thought of like Henry Morgentaler and Paul Magder who were both viewed as wingnuts at the times of their very public fights on behalf of all of us against the "system" but who have now come to be seen as brave pioneers by most.

regardless of his antics, I have a great deal of respect for Emory's fight to legalize something that many people agree should not be illegal. like Morgentaler and Magder, he's an easy target.

what is happening to him now is patently unjust. the Canadian justice system has failed him.
