On January 28, 1988, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in favour of Dr. Henry Mortgentaler (R. v. Morgentaler) that laws prohibiting a woman's right to an abortion were unconstitutional, opening the door to widespread access to the procedure. I can't believe it.I feel blessed that the Morgentaler Clinic and many like it exist. What a different life it would be for thousands of women (and men for that matter) if they didn't. We should be grateful that individuals like Henry Morgentaler stood up and fought for our right to choose. One person can impact the lives of thousands. It ain't easy, but it can be done.
