Absolute_Route
Hey all. I'm putting together an assignment for a grade 10 History class in which they will have to research and play songs from the 60's which reveal the changeing social and/or political attitudes of the times. I want to provide them some choices and would really appreciate any ideas people may have of songs that would fit the bill. Thanks.Rob Edited March 9, 2008 by Guest

scottieking
I've done this sort of thing for my Gr 11 class before. It's a good exercise but if you really want to augment the experience have them project a corresponding image from the time and have the class comment on it as well.As for some that haven't been mentioned:Buffalo Springfield - For What Its WorthNeil Young - OhioCCR - Run Through The JungleCCR - Fortunate SonBlack Sabbath - War Pigs

It was really well done. One of the best docs I've seen in a long time. Thanks for all the suggestions. I had a few of them in mind, but lots of other ones I hadn't thought of. I thought someone would have thrown out Jerfferson Airplane's Triad by now :content:

Jaimoe
What about Canadian protest songs? I believe "Barrett's Privateers" would qualify. There's also generations worth of Irish protest songs.
