Radiohead Tour 2008

It might be. There has been some complaints on another message board that the mp3s on Megaupload are converted from FLACs, against the taper's wishes, so it could be the same show. As I said earlier, the audio is real good except for the clipping on the bass on a kick drum heavy song. The audience does not really interfere with the recording. It's real good for what it is if you want to get a taste of the 2008 tour.

I found the link on a tapers' message board, and one of the replies stated, "Cool. The other source had some audible distortion." which makes me think the torrent might be a different source.

Aloha,

Brad

I'm listening to this right now, and I would rate it as a G/VG audience recording. The sound is good enough to listen to, but the audience is louder than the Tampa show and the audio has a bit more amphitheater echo, but at least the bass doesn't clip.

Music-wise the band is definitely on. All I Need and There There were real good. Airbag now, and that's a tune that they usually struggle through, but it's sounding pretty good.

Idioteque is notable for the fact that Ed's backup vocals are even with Thom's lead vocals, so you can really hear how well they compliment each other. Ed is usually turned way down.

I don't know if it's the same source as what's been sentspace, but

http://www.jambase.com/Articles/13904/Radiohead-in-DC-Listen-Here

reports that Radiohead Not For Profit has downloadable recording (even track-by-track) of the show.

Sounds like the same source. Good digging though Brad! A little canned, but otherwise good. Still no SBD from the 5 shows that they played so far, not that I expect any.

Well Radiohead have completed the first leg of their North American tour with 8 shows. In June they have 15 shows across Europe, including Victoria Park in London for which I have tickets for.

What songs can I expect (besides the obvious In Rainbows loaded setlist)? Well let's see, I've drawn up some stats, because doing actual work sounds kinda boring right now...

Played Every Show (8):

- Everything in its Right Place

- Optimistic

- Idioteque

- Bodysnatchers

- Nude

- Arpeggi

- All I Need

- Reckoner

- House of Cards

- Videotape

Played 7 out of 8 shows:

- There There

- 15 Step

- Faust Arp

- Bangers and Mash

Played 5-6 times:

- Paranoid Android

- Exit Music

- The National Anthem

- Pyramid Song

- You and Whose Army

- The Gloaming

Played 3-4 times:

- Planet Telex

- Fake Plastic Trees

- Just

- Airbag

- Lucky

- Morning Bell

- Where I End and You Begin

- Myxomatosis

- Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Played 1-2 times:

- The Bends

- My Iron Lung

- Bulletproof

- Street Spirit

- Karma Police

- Climbing Up The Walls

- The Tourist

- Kid A

- How To Disappear Completely

- Like Spinning Plates

- Sail To The Moon

- A Wolf At The Door

- Go Slowly

- Talk Show Host

Surprisingly Not Played:

- No Surprises

- I Might Be Wrong

- 2+2=5

- Go To Sleep

- Down Is The New Up

I would love to hear Thom absolutely mangle 'When Doves Cry' into the biggest wrist-slitter ever.

Actually Radiohead have been soundchecking with Portishead's "The Rip" at several shows on the current tour. I wouldn't be surprised if that version would surface at some point.

Liars were the opening band during the first leg of the Radiohead North American tour. They posted a blog about the tour on their website:

OH RADIOHEAD…

In a world full of fear and ripe with insincerity its such a relief to have met Radiohead.

They are purveyors of truth, beauty and a moral responsibility to the planet.

We’ve been welcomed with literal open ams and thoroughly schooled on how to function as a band -not just musically, but ethicly too. The honor is in learning from the best and from the beginning we’ve been in class.

The important thing for us to make clear is just how awe inspiring this production is.

We’re not sure if there’s any information made public about the efforts Radiohead go to to reduce their environmental impact. But, there should be. At the outset we were all given tour water flasks.

Plastic anything is like contraband.

Every bus and truck runs on bio-fuel.

There is no idling, rather some new-fangled way to deliver electricity cleanly.

They don’t do air-freight either.

The list goes on..

Everything is supremely managed to reduce the ‘footprint’ and it’s inspiring in that its ‘real’ and should set the standard for other big productions.

This all goes beyond the immediate impact of simply being able to watch these 5 guys perform together each night. Unlike any band we’ve seen they all contribute such an immense amount to the outcome. Their extreme individual talents blending so naturally. To witness this first-hand is an education in musicianship and vision that’s certainly not been lost on us...

For now, we’d like to send our huge thanks to the Radiohead crew for being so super crazy nice and supportive to us.

We’ll see them in Spain again for the Daydream Festival and of course during our West Coast tour with Radiohead in August - so no tears yet..

We Liars head to Europe now following a luxurious 2 day break and will be re-tracing some of the steps missed due to the euphoria of living in rainbows.

Love and Lobsters,

LIARS

London in 31 days!

Montreal in 73 days!
